I purchased this card last time around for $15AR, performed worst than my Intel Celeron G540 HD Graphics, also consumed an extra 15-20 Watts of power on my HTPC system. Got rid off and purchased a MB with HDMI/VGA instead, now my HTPC is silent and idles around 30 Watts.

This card does audio bitstreaming through HDMI and outputs at 1080p, so it would work fine in an HTPC. Keep in mind that it does have a fan, so if you are looking for a silent build this is probably not the card for you.

I have a 4250 integrated into my HTPC motherboard. It was mostly fine except that it can't play blu ray 3d content. For that, the graphics card needs to be able to decode frame-packed streams. The 6450 introduces UVD3 and, consequently, can play 3d. I wouldn't suggest this card to anyone looking to play games or anything.
