From what I understand you could download the 180 day trial from MS website and use there temp code then use the new one to have full activation. No real piracy involved in that. Worth a try if that is indeed how it works..
Nope. The 180 day "trial" people are talking about are KMS activations.
KMS activations are meant for large businesses and use a KMS server to activate their Windows. The 180 days is the length of the KMS activation until it needs to be re-upped.
You can not-so-legally emulate a KMS server to activate windows for 180 days at a time, which is what is happening here.
Unless you work for a large company that has a legitimate KMS server, this is piracy.
come on. it is only $15 to upgrade. Why pirate it?
exactly... it's only $15 to upgrade... why go through all that...
It's not $15 anymore AFAIK. That exploit is gone.
you do understand that they can blacklist keys anytime they want right?.
If you actually read the article, the exploit is in the Media Center upgrade key. When you purchase that, it becomes your windows key, and is permanently seen as legitimate. I don't see any way for them to blacklist that or to trace which users originally used the KMS one.
if you are a girl or girly whose need is chatting with other girls, you definitely don't need anything with computing functionalities.
Yea, I've used Windows 8, for an IT Professional it just wastes time. It might be fine for you, the guy who only uses slickdeals and facebook.
We've all seen the video of the systems admin trying to figure out Windows 8 and get pissed and say he hates it. You claiming to be an IT pro and then saying it wastes time is asinine. There are crazy amounts of benefits in W8 from faster multitasking (if you know what you are doing) to the better utlization of multi-core processors.
It's no secret that Windows 8 is designed for regular consumers, not enterprise or advanced users. But surely there is a middleground between IT professionals and "only slickdeals and facebook".
The biggest knock against 8 is there's no reason to upgrade from 7. I don't think that many people would truly hate it, but there just isn't too compelling of a reason to upgrade.
The reason I think this will be the OS that kills Microsoft is that, in the business world, where Microsoft has to realize, most if it's income is derived from. Is not buying Windows 8.
The consumer tablet/laptop/desktop market doesn't hold water to huge companies buying 15,000 new desktops for their employees. No one is leaving Windows 7 from a business workstation perspective and that is not going to result in positive revenue for Microsoft.
