Not sure if there is any limit on eBay Some users are confirming buying 3 from newegg and 5 from eBay.
Amazon is OOS at this price Newegg is still live though
The current firmware is CC9F, this changes the APM from 125 to 128 by default which takes care of the head parking issues. The above info isn't relevant. ^^
The head parking can be fixed by changing the power settings, there is an amazon link below with a review how to fix it. (Note: [Ancalagon] Amazon reviews and the Seagate forum appear to say that you can't fully stop the head parking issue, you can only decrease the problem. This is a contrast to the WD 3TB drives where you can fully stop the head parking problem. It may increase the drive life somewhat but it's a big risk. If someone knows to the contrary how to completely and totally disable the head parking flaw, direct link it to the post, because I haven't found it. Not TC'ing, just a fair warning that I don't play games with my data)

Amazon has price matched at: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST3000DM001/dp/B005T3GRLY?t=slickdeals&tag=slickdeals
Amazon lists this drive as 1-YR warranty, but Newegg lists it as 2-YR warranty. Somebody is wrong... but who?
Researching warranties, the Seagate site says "How Long Does The Coverage Last? Our warranty periods are 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years from the documented date of purchase, depending on the type of product and where it was purchased." So maybe Amazon and NewEgg really do have different warranties.
According to the following review, this drive should have a 2 year warranty from Seagate: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2B58X9OIRRBFC/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_alt_4
You can check your drive's warranty by entering the serial number here .
Amazon matched the price http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Barracuda-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST3000DM001/dp/B005T3GRLY/
The reply I got from Seagate was as follows: "Thank you for contacting Seagate Support. Seagate recently began a warranty reduction program. In order to determine the drive warranty, the serial number must be available for the product. ...".
