IMO - its not worth spending 198$ when you can buy 2nd generation for 49 bucks more.

whats the diff between gen1 and gen2? Not the whole Apple marketing on this again? geewhiz.
nevermind: 2nd generation design - Nest is now 20 percent thinner and works in 95 percent of homes with low voltage systems Not worth the $50 since these two changes dont affect me. |

Lowes.com will have the 1rst gen on sale for $198 starting tomorrow according to an email directly from Nest.

Burn a 10% coupon with lowes and you're at $180+tax. Not bad at all. I have a Nest and it is AWESOME.
