I apologize if this his has already been posted (searched and didnt see it). Smoking hot off the press, Sprint is basically matching Sams Clubs price for the S3!!!! nod

My dad called 7 plus times because of a billing issue and then he seen the deal for .99 and it just worked in his favor. And as far as the CS rep was talking, they DIDNT want to loose his business..

Only keep calling 7+ times if you don't value your account. Sprint has terminated service of people who call them too many times with issues.

This is active now, you have to call 1888-273-9460 .This is the retentions dept. and takes about 20 mins from start to finish. They are going to tell you they cant do it and they will only give us the 49.99 price. Just keep calling if they dont give you the price. My dad called and they said I see that you have called 7 times and your account is at risk (as in my dad was not being treated right, and he could potentially cancel the service ) what can we do. And he just said that he wanted the Sams club price match of .96, but Sprint does .99. She put him on hold a bit, but then it went thru. Good luck.

The second time I asked to speak to their supervisor, the supervisor knew exactly what I was talking about and transfered me to Account Services. I made sure that the supervisor stayed on the line with me during the transfer. The Account Services rep was confused at first, but after she spoke to her supervisor everything was a go.

I've been going through this thread and the thing that is making me very curious is in regards to those of you who were not actually eligible to upgrade, but got a representative to push you through. What I've seen is very inconsistent in this regard. Can some of you chime in really quickly with when your original upgrade eligibility was and, if it was given to you early (as in, you can upgrade now), how much were you charged, if at all. I know some people were bumped up from as little as a couple of weeks away (not a big deal) to being months away and allowed an early upgrade, sometimes with no charge. Others are getting early upgrade charge options that range all over the place.

Personally, I'm not eligible until June 2013 and was offered to buy the early upgrade option for $250! Um, thanks?

edit: Please note that your upgrade eligibility can be (often times is) different from your contract end date. A quick way to figure out when it is would be to text the word "upgrade" to the number 1311. It will respond with a text with the details.

Your $50 monthly charge is correct. They said I would be charged activation but I activated my phone and my account does not show any activation charge. I will wait till next month to see what I get charged though. I will be fighting the activation charge if it shows up.

Does anyone know if they throttle us SERO users? Speeds are ridiculously slow on 3G, might be just crappy network.

It really depends on where you live.. they just recently updated the towers here and spends have been much better for me.

I am on SERO 500 and have been with Sprint for over 12 Years (Premier Gold until the program ended last year).

Current phone is Palm Treo 755p Burgundy

I received my 99 cent S3 plus CA Sales Tax last Tuesday which I ordered on Thanksgiving Day (still unopened and still inside the UPS sealed delivery box)- couldn't decide if I wanted it- or if I wanted to wait for the S4 or to get the Note II-
I have never even held either the S3 or Note II in my hand- after talking with Account Services Escalation Dept. for SERO/Employee Accts. today- CSR will call me back Thursday- but in principal I agreed to "Return my unopened S3 before the 14 days is over" and order a "Titanium Gray Note II" for
$49.99 plus applicable taxes for CA (after CSR applied service credits)- I told CSR- that granted the S4 is very appealing- I think getting a Note II- is technology in between an S3 vs.S4

CSR also reminded me that if I get the Note II that my monthly payment will go up $20.00 (which I knew already- since have to move from SERO 500 to SERO-P 500).

My upgrade eligibility is in Jun 2013. I paid $100 for early upgrade, and I don't have to pay $36 upgrade/activation fee. If they tell you it's $26x, probably they are quoting your ETF, not early buyout fee.

Months on Sprint Contract / Buyout Fee to Upgrade to New Sprint Phone:

9-11 months = $165

12-14 months = $125

15-17 months = $95

18-21 months = $55

22-24 months = $35

No, that figure wasn't the ETF. I know because she actually gave me the ETF fee, also. It was $250 to buy my upgrade, and my ETF was $200. The Sprint site says "The early termination fee is prorated and is calculated by taking the months remaining on your Service Agreement times $20 for Advanced Devices" which makes the $200 I was told just about right because my contract is up in October. I remember both of us concluding that it would be less expensive for me to cancel my service than to pay for the early upgrade.

So it sounds like she wasn't being truthful with me. May I ask where you got the above upgrade information from? I would be about 14 months into my contract and so the fee should have been $125. It'd be nice to tell the next person who gives me a bogus amount why it's incorrect. Still, I think if I was to go back through the responses here regarding people's early upgrade costs I'm betting we'll see some inconsistencies against that pricing schedule.

It seems like (from that link) the upgrade program should have been discontinued by now. Clearly, it still exists in some manner (official or not) based on the experiences shared in this thread.

Myself, I'm on a SERO-P account and still under contract at the moment. In my recent experiences the Retentions department has been less likely to help SERO users. I used to have a lot of luck with them but with the decline of Sprint services the last couple of years (all the changes for the worse for customers) I stopped being surprised when they seemed to care less about any threats of canceling service with them - ESPECIALLY as a SERO holder. I began to conclude they were actually TRYING to get rid of us.

Agree completely. About a couple of years ago I went out of country and had my SERO plan on seasonal standby, when I came back it was a hassel to get all the original perks added back on to make the plan whole. Though I was able to get all but one of the perks back, had to settle for the pick 5 being replaced with only pick 1 free phone number to call; when I called retentions and had it escalated they outright said you should be happy with what you have and we are more then willing to cancel if you like. So be careful if you go on seasonal,

I also had a lot of negative experiences as SEROP, but a couple of months ago I called and threathened to cancel to get the iphone somewhere else and got a $100 credit Stick Out Tongue

It was definitely that kind of vibe that I was getting from more than one "customer service" rep - basically a "you should be glad you've got what you've got" and "if you don't like it, scram". One by one my perks disappeared off my account with no way of getting them back. Lost my FIMF. Lost my pick 2. Lost my early nights and weekends - I swear they did it on purpose everytime one of them touched your account.

The key now is that you've actually got to be ready to follow through and not be an empty threat. Back in the day, you merely whispered the word "cancel" and they'd help you out. Now, you outright say what you did above and they say "go ahead". I actually canceled out two family members' SERO lines and they couldn't care less when I did. That's why now I don't dare doing what you did unless I am fully ready to follow through with termination. It's like playing contract termination chicken with the Sprint reps! laugh out loud
