Most importantly, warranties from third-parties are one-time replacements up to the total cost of the depreciated item(sort of like a car). Parts come in cheap and they have contracts with foreign companies. Say, the most common failure for this type of projector or any is the electronic ballast. It costs up to 20 bucks in the US(which is why i gave $20 as an example). But if you have a contract, parts will be cheaper and labor will be cheap as well, especially overseas. Probably $5 total but they give you a sheet with US prices for caps. Do not confuse this with car insurance or anything of the sort. Electronics depreciate rapidly and so do its parts. Do you think they're out to lose money? lol |

If this were HDMI 1.4 compatible for 3D I'd be all over this. Even if it was a couple hundred dollars more. I can't believe that 2 years after Acer introduced this ground-breaking PJ, they haven't done a simple HDMI 1.4 interface upgrade to it. So many flat panel 3D TVs all come with HDMI 1.4 interfaces these days. I've got a 65 inch 3D TV, and just recently bought a 23 inch Asus monitor for just around $200 adn both work great with the HDMI 1.4 i/f . I really don't want to be messing with the Nvidia 3D stuff, drivers, emitters and what not.
For 3D, you need to bone up on a pretty confusing set of standards, incompatibilities and requirements and how they fit together: http://www.best-3dtvs.com/guides/...mat-guide/ http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/ http://3dvision-blog.com/ http://www.avsforum.com/t/1240499...he-3d-htpc In the last year or so, 3D is simplified significantly with HDMI 1.4, atleast for video and movies. But even for a 2D HD PJ this is a great deal, so no faulting this! Last edited by dealsalways; 11-21-2012 at 11:48 PM.. |

My cousin bought this projector for 450 and I was quite jealous when he showed me his setup and the 3d stuff. Now, I can have my own. I already have an older projector so I'd have to remake my screen. |

I am a little confused, I thought I needed a converter box in order to watch 3d but after doing some reading I realized I can do it with my ATI video card. My question is, Do i need to buy the 3d glasses kit, or can i just grab a pair of nvidia glasses from ebay? |

Word of advice if you want your projector to run for a long time..Remember projectors are not like TV you cannot just turn them on and off frequently.. If you're going to turn on your projector I suggest leaving it on for at least 2 hours.. I've owned 3 projectors including this one.. I have a Mitsubishi Hc1600 that I have owned for 5 years in my room and have put over 6000 hours on my original bulb and its still going great.. I've read you put the most stress on your projector when they start up.. So the more you turn them on and off the more stress you put on them. I use PJ about 3-4 times a week and when I do they usually stay one for at least 3 hours.. If i need to watch something real quick I usually just turn on my TV and not my PJ..

I've found the best prices for Dalite projector screens to be from http://thefinalclick.com You can get good value projector screens from other places like monoprice. I'm sure they'd be satisfactory. But in the few hundred dollar range for something like this I'm not that price-sensitive so a Highpower would be my choice. It's not easy to do comparison testing of screens due to returns difficulty etc. |

How does this compare to the Dell M110, which is at the same price?
http://slickdeals.net/f/5554016-D...NewEgg-com or the LG PA70G which is $50 more? http://slickdeals.net/f/5563616-L...ys-B-M-399 Last edited by Xefer; 11-23-2012 at 11:27 AM.. |
