Got in on one last night - and I'm really excited about it.
I think this is the absolute best option for OpenWRT right now, and OpenWRT is the only router distribution I will use. If it runs OpenWRT, you know it's got full open source driver support - unlike DD-WRT and friends (who are willing to use binary blobs and stick with old kernels due to that). Open source support is what tips the scales to this device over the similar (but more expensive) Asus devices. AFAIK they still aren't fully supported by OpenWRT. |

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but as a person who just needs basic router capabilities for a normal household, stable connection, fast speed, great range, doesn't really know about all these bells and whistles,
does someone like me really need this? or even simpler, I'm looking at this, but is it a) easy to use b) useful for a basic user like me? Last edited by jpuma311; 11-24-2012 at 08:11 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

i have a 5+ yr old buffalo router
i'm going to use for OOMA, Netflix and 3-4 wireless devices/phones/printer i've read some of the not so good reviews is there a better value for the $$$ out there for a router with these features?? (these features are found mostly in >$100 routers right?) edit: main issue i am having with my current router is that it drops certain devices or seems to have a limit on the amount of devices that can be connected. for example if i connect my nook, then my phone will drop the connection requiring me to reset the router Last edited by Doatslo; 11-24-2012 at 09:30 PM.. |
