Given the low rating of this thread, I gotta hand it to Fry's for positively surprising me on BF. Either the Las Vegas store is really slow compared to others (I was in town visiting relatives), or they were just playing their hand really low key.
I went in with really low expectations on my instore pickup of the LG 55LM4700 bundle. I didn't get the online confirmation until about 1 am, and wasn't thinking to pick anything else up. Got there at 9 am, three hours after opening, as no way I was going to deal with the long lines. First promising sign was everyone exiting at 9 am had a big-screen TV in their shopping cart, most LG's. Second positive was they had a very orderly instore pickup at the rear of the store, I think things were indeed set aside for every order, and I didn't see anyone not getting their stuff. Third, in fact they had tons of stuff in the Thursday and Friday ads just sitting out on the floor in full pallets, whether you reserved or not - and a lot of stuff on sale I didn't recall seeing in the ads. Ended up walking out with: LG 55LM4700 bundle with 2.0 soundbar and Blu-ray player = $799 Logitech mk560 keyboard and mouse combo = $29 (I just bought this for $49 from Costco a month ago) Lenovo SFF PC (with Intel G645 CPU) = $298 (they also had tons of the $228 AMD one) Canon MX892 All-in-one wireless inkjet printer = $59-$50 rebate (bundled with any PC/tablet/monitor) = $9 Decided not to get the Antec 430W PS, flash memory or other things just because I was leaving with a lot more than I expected. Good thing, as I could barely fit everything in the car. The LG almost did me in, the soundbar I didn't really need was boxed inside the TV carton, making it about 8" taller than a normal 55" box, and thus not able to lie flat between the wheels wells in the SUV. Fortunately it just barely fit at an angle with only a few inches to spare. |
