Update: Furmark benchmark ran without any problems. No BSOD, artifacts, freezes, etc. Windows 8 is going to take some getting used to... Overall freaking awesome high definition screen! Now installing mSata and 16gb of ram. ![]() Update 2: My computer literally booted up in like 4-5 seconds after those installations. I am speechless. Last edited by AL25; 12-13-2012 at 12:15 PM.. |

Received mine yesterday but medical conditions had me too tired to open it. I opened it today and man does windows 8 suck. I'm getting pretty frustrated. UEFI options, lets just say there are none. Not much to tweak in there. By youtube comparison, the option to create system recovery discs is LITERALLY NOT THERE in windows 8 vs win 7. Without recovery discs I have no clue how to reinstall on my new msata. Furthermore, the bottom of my computer doesn't have a product key sticker. So I guess there are other ways to retrieve it but damn this is getting stupid.

http://www.lenovo.com/shop/americ...-ug-en.pdf That's weird there isn't a product key. Where do they expect you to get it from? Perhaps this will help? http://pcsupport.about.com/od/win...ct-key.htm I'm going to buy windows 8 pro anyway for my msata, so it doesn't really matter to me, but yeah they should provide the product key for the windows that it comes with. Hope this helps. |

OK. today I received Y580. After playing with the laptop for few minutes, I got disappointed. First the mouse tracking pad. It is not good. It looks cheap plastic and going inside all the time. I am confused whether I am clicking or not. So that is my first disappointment. May be I am not used to it? Any other felt like that? Second, the build quality is not that great. Even though I expected it, but not at this level. I am going to call them and return it asap. I may end up buying Mac or will try Dell. Already I got some disapointment in HP and Sony. But I think I have to give up my HD hope in Mac. So total disappointment.
