I didn't see this advertised in their ad but I found it looking through the video game section. It says coming soon, which means it will be online for their BF sale. Free shipping and it seems it is online only, as store pickup is not available.

I know many people have waited for it to drop this low. Now is your chance to get one.

I use tridef with amd card and it worked perfectly fine. No need to press the 3d button at the back of the monitor. For some games it's not that great, but most fps games are awesome.
Did you have to buy the tridef drivers? What happens at the end of the 14 day trial?

Received the box alone with no additional packaging, corners were scuff. Already gone for $150 on CL. Beats returning it.

Mine was shipped in retail box.

No box, no plastic bag.

Retail box arrived torn and ripped.
There's an inner white box. The delivery person is so busy this time of the year and they don't really handle the big box properly. Mine was left outside the door. The external box was handled quite rough but at least not torn like other said.

im using the trial one now and see how it goes. So far fps games are working well, not so well for RPG...sometimes it may stuck and blank out. so yea I need to decide whether to spend $25 to get the software in the end...

Would Radeon cards fare any better?
As tomhrxbfg said, TriDef would work fine. TriDef supports HDMI 3D on AMD cards, so there's no need to cut your resolution in half. However, it's still limited at 24 fps @ 1080p or 60 fps @ 720p.

how much was the warranty plan from bestbuy?

Just got mine. First impression, this thing is built very nice. It is thin and has a glass panel front which is terrible for glare but is my absolute favorite coating because it produces the best picture if you can control the light in your room. I noticed that there were some minor hdmi or video issues the first 3 or so minutes but after that everything has worked perfect for me. I gamed on it for a good hour and a half. The back was hardly warm. Slap a 5 year best buy warranty on this and it is one of the best deals of the year. I am wondering if i even need my 60'' black friday vizio now...

I've read that the warranty price is based on current price of the item. And I think this display is listed for 170 now? Maybe that's the reason for higher warranty cost

After BestBuy's extended return period ends can I still buy a Squaretrade warranty or do I have to buy it within the first 30 days? It's looking like a better option at the moment (3 years for $14.99, not including any thirty or fourty percent codes.

After playing around for a while with this monitor attached to my PC, I think I'm going to return it. In 2D mode it looks pretty nice. It has good brightness and colors. You have to sit a ways back from it in order for the screen to look uniformly bright though. In 3D mode, the "3D-ness" of the image looks good. There is a little bit of ghosting, but it's much better than the LG passive 3D monitor that I have. The thing that kills it for me is the huge drop in brightness that the glasses impose in 3D mode. Even with the backlight and contrast cranked all the way up I couldn't get an image that was anywhere near as bright as in 2D mode without the glasses. Cranking up the brightness on the monitor and gamma in-game got close, but that washed the image out too much.

I haven't tried with this attached to a PS3, but I'm sure that the lack of brightness would be the same there.

My conclusion is that for active 3D to be bright enough you need a display with a backlight that can be turned up really bright. I think I'll wait until devices with a separate HD display for each eye, such as the Occulus Rift, become available at a decent price before diving into stereo 3D again. Now to see if I can sell off my passive 3D monitor for a decent price...

I came to the same conclusions. I think that the non-uniform brightness has more to do with viewing angles... which aren't very good...
