I own a Denon at about 70% of this cost that does about 10% as much. Doesn't seem fair...lol *Edit - Just watched the video.....that thing is nuts. I'm tempted to buy it and I don't even need the damn thing!! Last edited by Evo-IC; 11-22-2012 at 03:19 AM.. |

I've been eyeing this one for a while. It's between this and some of the Denons for me.
Regular going price on this guy when it was current was around $400, so not really half-price here, but a good deal. it got down to $350 a few times i believe. The 673 is the current model, but doesn't really add anything, and if i read correctly, it actually removed the xm online app which is one thing i want. |

As far as sound quality i think it's top notch. Guess one small nitpick is that it's 7.1 instead of 7.2, but a Y adapter on sub output fixes that easy enough if you have 2 subs. I have recommended this exact model to several friends as I feel it's by far the best bang for the buck in it's class. I can't speak for the Apple app, but the Android app really makes this receiver shine. I grab my phone when I wake up groggy, open app, and jump around Pandora or just stream an mp3 from my phone and blast it downstairs till it wakes me up. At $299, I'd say you must be crazy not to buy one, I paid $500 and feel like I got a steal! I'm driving a pair of Klipsch reference RB8's, reference center channel, and reference surrounds with it. Also a pair of Reference 12d subs that double as speaker stands for the fronts lol. IMO the quality it pumps into them is better than anything I have ever owned. The YAPO setup with included microphone seemed to tune it in good enough with my speakers that I can never seem to fine tune it better myself. Edit: You can easily adjust sub crossover/volume, volume to any channel, and practically any tweak you want, also the firmware is upgradable over LAN. Maybe thats all standard now, dunno. Think theres been just one or two updates. Also if you're sitting at your PC on LAN you can bring up a browser window and control some basics without having to get out of your chair, in case you left phone in other room and you're super lazy like me.
