Ugh... I guess there won't be a non-MIR deal on these anytime soon.

I would get it but I don't see myself using it. Plus I already spent $300+ on the sears 32", the playstation display, 2 120gb ssd's, and other random items. But this is great for anyone that can use it. I love Asus, it's one of my favorite brands for some reason.

Really nice deal for an internal. Newegg's also got a $70 *external* BD Burner somewhere in the sales if that suits your fancy more. Both ways, I'm glad it's finally cheap enough for a casual pickup.

Finally, Blu-Ray Burners have fallen to an affordable price point now. Also, 25GB BD-R blanks are around $0.50-0.60 per disc now if you can find a deal, so it's very reasonable, probably even cheaper than DVD blanks. 14x burners are now hitting the market, but 12x should be fine. I don't trust hard drives, so I always burn a copy of important data to optical media as well as keeping it on the hard drive. The rebate is a bit big, but Asus and 4myrebate are pretty reliable. Also if you read the fine print, if you don't like the debit card, you can call to request a check. I always do, but it adds another 2-3 weeks before you receive the check. |

not bad. Tempting but if I needed space I'd rather get a 3TB hard drive and not deal with physical disks. Any iso images I use get installed from flash drives and are recognized natively in windows 8 without extra software now. Good price though.
