Logitech Wireless Anywhere Mouse MX (Matte Black) $35 + Free Shipping

Am I correct that the only functional differences between this and the M510 are "scroll anywhere" and "hyper-fast scrolling"? Anyone have experience with both?

After ditching Logitech forever after two consecutive Performance MX mice with the mouse-click problems (within one year of ownership), I've jumped on the Newegg Black Friday deal for a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 at $20. Good choice?

It's funny you ask this. I have/had the Anywhere mouse mx and absolutely loved it. It does go through batteries pretty fast but with rechargeable batteries its not a huge issue. Unfortunately it fell off my desk on to the floor (carpeted) and the scroll wheel is messed up. It still scrolls but there is absolutely no resistance and it just spins and spins, which sucks for scrolling through slickdeals pages . So I had to go back to my old mouse which happens to be the Microsoft mobile mouse 4000. I am still currently using it and it definitely isn't nearly as good of a mouse as the anywhere mouse. It's small and cheap feeling, and lacks a lot of the great futures and extra buttons on the anywhere mouse that I had loved. I am currently trying to decide if I should 1. Buy another anywhere mouse for $35, 2. Buy a Logitech performance mx mouse for $50, 3. Keep using my cheap little Microsoft 4000, or 4. Try to get used to the screwed up scroll wheel on the anywhere mouse that I already own.

I also had an issue a month or so before the incident where I dropped the mouse where my computer stopped recognizing the mouse. The mouse was on but it the computer wouldn't find it. I was using the unifying receiver, and the receiver has no trouble finding my logitech keyboard. I started a warranty claim with logitech and it ended up getting fixed by leaving the batteries out of my mouse for 24 hours. I have no idea why it takes so long, but it started to work perfectly after doing that. I would start another warranty claim for the scroll wheel but I'm pretty sure they won't cover it if they find a piece physically broken inside of the mouse that shows them that it's been dropped. And i'm sure there must be something physically wrong inside to make it that the scroll wheel has absolutely zero resistance.

TLR The Anywhere Mouse is a much better mouse, but it can have some issues and it can be kind of fragile

Somebody needs to step up and kill the monopoly that Logitech has on premium mice. I'm sick of my buttons failing after a year or so (double-click on their own or release on their own -- widely-reported, well-known flaw).

Just FYI, the free-spinning scrolling is a feature called hyperfast scrolling. There should be a button on the mouse to switch from hyperfast to regular scrolling. When you dropped it you just pressed that button. For more info, see http://www.logitech.com/en-us/not...e-mouse-mx (click on Features, then scroll down until you see hyperfast scrolling).

I looked and looked after it happened but there wasn't a button on there that changed the scrolling. After reading your post I dug out my old anywhere mouse and I figured it out. You have to push down the scroll wheel in to the mouse as far down as you can until it clicks. This will switch it from normal to hyper scrolling. Thank you so much for your info. I am now going to go back and rep a whole crap load of your posts because you just saved me $35. It's going to be great having my anywhere mouse back. Thank you so much!
