Plenty of them at the stores in DC. I saw a display pallet of them about 30 and I was only the second person to buy one last night. There are 28 more left. Unfortunately I returned it after I received my Asus RT-56U today.
Got my Asus RT-N56U today and did a side by side comparison.
Its the best router I've had so far. I also bought the Cisco Linksys E4200v2 at BB and installed the newest firmware (from the Cisco site) which actually makes it the E4500 and there is no comparison. Asus is 30-50% better gain and throughput at farther distances. The signals also penetrates my plaster walls. This is the only 5ghz router that actually works in my entire house. From my testing the Asus is best in wall penetration and highest throughput. The Cisco is good if it is in the line of sight/ same room.
I also tested the Cisco Linksys X2000, E1200, E4200, E4200v2, E4500, Western Digital-N600 and they all got returned. The Asus RT-N56U is by far the best router if you live in a house with thick walls and lots of interference from neighbors. Western Digital-N600 is the worst.
