@bolland99 I wonder if you ever really used a proper tablet or owned any of those cheap China made tablets that have specs that sound like they have the same components as iPads or a Galaxy/Nexus/Asus tablets.

I used to think exactly like that... got burnt with a $200 Chinese tablet that sounded like it would work as good as iPad (first gen)... and I also played with a couple of similarly priced tablets from second or third tier brands. Man... they are a pain in the a$$. I am about to drop off the chinese tablet (Flytouch 3, in case you were wondering) at GCF. Maybe somebody could find it useful when they get it for free.

Now the only tablets I would even consider buying are the ones from top manufacturers like Asus, Samsung, Apple. No point in blowing away a couple of hundred buck and always be frustrated while using the device.

Was looking at the Galaxy/Nexus/Transformer models (10 in) in the Android world but lack of tablet optimized apps in Google Play was the deal breaker (in addition to not having some of the games for kids).

Didn't want to buy a $400 toy and then end up cursing the developers for not releasing a version that makes the app use all the 2500 pixels available on the device in a better way. Filling a 2500 pixel screen with an app made for 1200 pixel screens (i.e., phones) is not the experience I was looking for after spending so much.

So... took the dive on my first Apple device using the BB iPad Gen 4 at $439.00 + tax - cash back etc.

Now let me see if the iPad and its apps live up to my expectations.

I just sold my ipad 2 for more on eBay today. So it looks like I just beat the price drop.

Do you think Amazon will eventually match the price (ex. on Cyber Monday), so I don't have to pay tax?

Actually, it's not 5.6%. It's around 3.7%. You need to look at what the pricing tiers are.
