would you get this over the Insignia one from Best Buy? it's 250 for 39 in 1080p, LED, 60htz.

in other words, is Sceptre better than Insignia in quality?

From what I've read, Insignia sources different companies for different models. Hence, it's difficult to tell the general quality of the brand,

My friend had a 50" Insignia plasma that died after a year. I bought the Sceptre 39" from Newegg last month and I was shocked by the great picture quality. The sound quality is very bad, to say the least. Everything sounds like it's coming from a stadium PA system. I simply added some cheap PC speakers to the headphones port, and all is well with my man-cave TV. (You can add the speakers to the RCA audio out, but adding to the headphones port allows for the TV remote's volume buttons to control the sound.)

Basically, if you're in the market for an off brand TV, you're probably not one to care too much about all the extra bells and whistles. If that's true, the Sceptre is a great choice. (Just be sure not to shake the stand too much; it's pretty weak.)

Does anyone think theres any chance of the Emerson 40 in for $198 being available online? Debating whether to go with this one or wait it out...

any idea if this will be good as a computer monitor? I'm concerned with how sharp the text will be.

I'm on the fence about this. Main reason is because no one else seems to be rushing to get it...
Is this a great deal? Or merely an everyday SD?

I'd hold out for a better deal personally, but it really depends on if you want to take a chance
on trying to get one of the smoking tv deals and then potentially miss out and end up with nothing.

just read from another site that this is a current low by 20 bucks.

i would personally go with the Insignia one from best buy (smaller by 1 in, but LED). I know someone said that Sceptre is better than Insignia, but after reading around online, it seems like both Sceptre and Insignia source their components from cheap places, which make sense given their price points. Some have said that Insignia is better, and of course others have proposed otherwise.

It was posted three minutes ago... I got one, if something better comes up I'll return it, but usually the cheapest 32 inch TVs are $228 at Walmart so I thought this was good.

I'm surprised it was not out of stock as well. Maybe supply caught up with demand and everyone has LCD TV's. I even came across $200 laptops still in stock earlier this morning but I have no need for it.
I'm looking out for a mid-range video card to replace my aging Nivia 460 but Newegg is screwing the deals with these silly rebates.

Seems the consensus is that this is a "meh" deal. Late last night TD was selling a 39" HDTV (720p, 60Hz) for $179.99 with free shipping and then included a $50 mail in rebate!

Meh... I'll holding out for a 39-40 inch for $200 or less.

My opinion is if you're looking at this, buy it for in store pick up.. then I am assuming you can cancel if you find another deal in the next couple of days...
