it would be unusual for a baby to get a rash for the diaper. Now if you let the baby sit in pee or poop, that is where the rash comes from. also, when newborns are going every 2-4 hours it is tough for them to NOT get a mild rash.

How do these compare to the babies r us Supreme brand diapers? I've been using the supremes for a while now, but at $10 a case it may be worth the switch.

This is simply not true. Diapers have various scents that are used. Some babies are allergic to some scents. Moisture from urine can cause a rash. Diapers can also cause reactions.

Infants under 1 year do not have the immune system to develop a true allergic reaction. a "scent" would not cause an allergic reaction on skin anyway.
Now it is true that people can have a dermatitis from contact with allergens or irritants but to be honest most diaper rashes are not due to this type of reaction. Urine is far more irritating just as aggressive rubbing is more irritating than the components in the diaper, unless you are talking diapers that are not from the major brands. Unless a baby has eczema it would be unusual for the baby to react to a product in a diaper due to an "allergy." Now once you get to a year that all changes...
