I'm new to the Memory foam mattresses. I am trying to find a good deal on a gel ingested foam Queen/King. Who's got the best deals now?
These are just memory foam toppers. There are a lot of good brands for full memory foam mattresses. I'd start by checking reviews at amazon. The gel topper on the memory foam mattresses help keep you cool, which I think is worth it for the summer months.

How good are these prices? Any better than others? Ive been waiting for a good mattress deal, is this it?
I purchased Corita extra firm for the same price last year and couldn't be happier. For those who like firm bed, this has to be one of the best.

I've bought 2 of the Cooper Mountain Plush European Pillow Tops, one for my regular house and one for a lake house. One of them them squeak pretty bad, the other is dead silent. That is really the only complaint I have with either of them. They are both super comfy. I'm picked up a 3rd for an apartment near where we are starting a 2nd office location. The no tax & free shipping is pretty great.

I'm a noob to mattresses, and I don't know the difference between memery foam and corita and tomohawk...etc. I went to a store and tried a few and they all kinda feel the same. Probably something plush but not too plush. What mattress should I get?

Just ordered the Tomahawk Firm (full size) over the phone. The girl couldn't give me any extra discount on the mattress (since they're "deal hunter" prices). Also, there is no free box spring included; she told me it was an error in the product description.

Mattress "sales" are ALWAYS scams. The true prices are the same throughout the year, regardless of how the sellers mark up the "original price" tag.

In order to become a reseller for the Big "S" brands (Sealy, Simmons, Sterns & Foster, Serta), the seller is required to adhere to the mattress makers' secret minimum price, the so-called price floor.

That's why every single big name mattress will never be sold below a certain bottom-line amount, regardless of what discount the seller lists.

Also, always check out the "mattress scam" type websites where you can get the equivalent names for a certain model mattress. This is important because each seller renames "his" model so that customers won't be able to comparison shop; some models have up to 16 different names but they are all the exact same mattress.

Yes, indeed there are trade laws enacted in the 1970’s that prohibit manufacturers from setting a price floor (a minimum selling price). The reason for a price floor set by a manufacturer is to keep profits high for their resellers, which helps keep profits high for the manufacturer.

With the new law, many discount mattress retailers opened up and undercut the big department stores. Naturally, the department stores were not happy about this so they started to negotiate with the manufacturers. The outcome of this was for the manufacturers to provide “exclusive” models to the department stores, to set them aside from the discount retailers. These “exclusivity” deals eventually spread and have lead to the very unique situation we have today were just about every retailer sells exclusive models (it's the same mattress but with a different name), completely snuffing the ability for a consumer to comparison shop.

This is still just a way to circumvent the trade laws, but for some reason the mattress makers are still getting away with it to this day.
So what bed would you recommend then?

For the Corita Extra Firm at 50% off price of $599...

It looks like this mattress is more like $789-$849 anywhere else - cheaper deal but not 50% off

Could you put a link in the wiki for a couple of these websites that we can research? I'm sure google will bring up millions of results but I'm wanting some known to be legit and trustworthy

Do I need to purchase a new box spring with these mattresses? I bought a Simmons mattress about about 5 years ago with a box spring and I think the box spring is still fine, so I don't need a new one right?

imo no you do not need a new box spring - beds are standard sizes
