Guys wait till Monday to purchase this.
Using both gift cards can only be done over the phone...and the dell outlet people wont be open till Monday...which really blows.

See, I don't know why you would say that when you can do some quick Google searches and make the determination that is not the case. This is the SAME thing as the Apple MBP not supporting > 8GB but I have not 1, but 2 running on 16's

(Let me spoil it for you, it supports 32GB)

The Dell Bios revision A06 (internal build) fixed a "display" issue where the 1 in 16384 MB was lopped off. It's currently at A12.

The Intel Chipset is HM67 and has been stated to support 16GB. I think also 32GB but by the time 17R's rolled out, Dell couldn't certify it.

There are a variety of forum posts where people have successfully upgraded with no issues. Well, the one issue I've read is where the hibernate partition needs to be resized to 16GB.

Other than that, I'm going to throw some 16's chrome on that bad boy.

Lucky. Mine's still "in production" with an estimated date of 11/30/2012.

Ordered mine on Thanksgiving Thursday at approximately 5pm. Got my first estimated delivery for 11/30, then got an email notification saying that they were out of a part and shipment wouldn't be until 12/04. Just checked my order and it shows as shipped estimated delivery tomorrow - 11/28. No clue what to believe.

Guess I was not too late for this. Was able to grab one earlier today. Combined with $75 gift card option to get even better price. Repped.

Got got it over the phone. Great price for an awesome video card in a powerful laptop.
Still in production..sigh..but will be shipped Dec 3rd.

My only concern is its a Dell laptop...i'm hoping it doesnt randomly die on me. Does anyone have good stories about their dell machines?

Dell laptops generally fee very cheap plasticy. Plastic on the screen area is a bad idea.

Does the coupon work still? When I try to use it I get the following message:

Mine did the same thing....ordered on the 21st, showed estimated delivery for 11/23, then changed to 11/28, then changed to 12/3, then changed back to 11/28 and it shipped and arrived today. I'm typing on it now.

Don't forget, if you live in a cold area make sure you let the laptop warm up before plugging it in and turning it on....don't want any condensation frying components.

Also, it is being shipped signature required, so make sure someone is home to sign for it.
