I'm watching the news in California and it shows 100s of poor suckers outside of a BestBuy in line that have been there for DAYS specifically for the 40" Toshiba lol. I'm so glad I got my stuff online with no rush and no lines and no stress. Amazon ftw!

They could have climbed down the grand canyon and spent the night there and came back up, but instead they stood outside for days for a farking cheap ass tv, gg.

Hundreds? I just went to Best Buy in Southern SD (one of the busiest Best Buys in CA) for S*** and gigles and there were thousand+ at 10PM!!!!!! By the time they open I would Estimate 2000+ by the looks of how fast people were still going into the line. Do people not realize at one point, it just doesn't matter? If you're the 1200th person in line..........what do you expect to get?
The first person in line was there Sunday Night! for what? save $50 off a tv?

I then proceeded to tell them I got a 42" Samsung rebranded LCD for $180+5% CB from Discover.

The look on their face was OMG

Lol yeah and they interviewed this one lady that was waaaaay back in the line and the reporter asks what she was there for? And she mentions the Toshiba TV and the guy says you know there are hundreds of people in front of you right? And she goes yeah but they're going to have to fight me for it. Um no, you are just not getting yourself that Toshiba from all the way back there.

I just can't do lines. Even if the TV was being given away. I can do 2-3 hours sometimes with friends for movie screenings that I'm particularly interested in. But days?? No thank you.

Even if BB was giving the TVs away for free to the first 10 or 20 customers, I still wouldn't do it.

People would camp out for weeks for that TV. Jeez, I'd rather take a short term job stocking the shelves at wal-mart or something and just buying the stupid thing myself. To camp out overnight in misery for days on end with a questionable crowd.... no thanks.

If you would have told those same 100's to do some work for those same days and get paid DOUBLE the amount that they are saving....noone would have showed up.

im curious as to how op found out about this deal since it wasnt listed in the lightning deal. obviously i know amazon leaked out all the hot deals and prices before they started the bfday lightning deal promo but they never included the time. so my question is how did u figure out the time? the toshiba had more than 3 sellers, so how did u know which to add into cart? pricedrop addon doesnt for 3rd party sellers so i just dont get it Frown
I was one of the first people to purchase the item (that I know of on SD). I had the page for the TV open and randomly refreshed it around 5:55. The price changed from $354something to $179.99. So I bought it instantly and then posted in another thread (the Amazon TV deals thread). No one knew the official time of the deal. OP's thread was created a few minutes before my post (had to make sure I was buying the right TV Smilie)

Except that scenario involve employment and more effort than camping out with other deals enthusiasts who would just as soon shank you once the doors open.

The last time I waited in line was for the Touchpad.

but there were more than 1 seller for this tv. did you just refresh all the tabs? i guess it really is just the luck of the draw. i was wondering if there was some secret list or section to look at that everyone knew about except me. thanks for replying. glad you got it, you deserve it for that kinda effort. No, I hope it does, though I highly doubt it.

Same! Arrives Monday. I thought there'd be some kind of delay since the holidays. Silly me thinking retail workers & delivery would get a slight break.
