Have an I3 Quad Core Gateway with 6GB I bought about a year and a half, two years ago.

Would I see a noticeable difference in performance with this? In short - is it worth it to spend the money for the upgrade? Or should I stick with what I have? Would like a bit more umph in my machine, but, not sure if that umph is worth the $600 bucks, lol.

Looks like a good deal. trying the ecard route with it...hope I get the ecards in time!

How does one use 2 dell gift cards for this purchase? It only allows me to enter one gift card and then one credit card for the purchase...

You have to call and place a phone order. YMMV, call again to get a different person if you can't use your gift cards.

I'd recommend waiting for a Dell Outlet coupon. You can pick this up for less from the outlet and those boxes have Windows 7. I picked up this configuration a few months ago from the outlet new (not S&D or refurb) for around $540. It's a great system. I do a lot of CAD work and run dual monitors, although only one through the discrete card.

If you need a system now, then this is not a horrible deal. But, it's certainly not something that's too good to pass up.

I did this before Thanksgiving, so very possible they are closed today.
