I've had horrible experiences with Sears. Especially when it comes to warranty, refunds, cancelations, etc. I've had to file chargeback claim on them via Paypal & through my credit card company in order to get my money back after they refused to provide a refund for unopened merchandise (that included a receipt). I think LONG and HARD before buying ANYTHING from sears.com these days. They are a logistical nightmare to deal with when it comes to online purchasing.
The retail landscape has changed...the people at the top of Sears are dinosaurs that desperately need to adjust to modern online commerce. You build trust and loyalty with your customers by offering fantastic customer service. Constructing a building as big as an entire block, and strong arming customers/competing businesses, is not how it's done anymore.
I won't be surprised when Sears is the next company that goes under.
I would at least go in there tomorrow and try to haggle with them, maybe get them to give you a different model of a 50" tv. I wouldn't have your hopes up, but I'd at least try something. Sorry for that experience.
BF is craziness, really. From now on, do BF online from the comfort of your computer. You may not get that exact tv (that and the walmart vizio were probably the two hottest BF items) that you want, but on slickdeals, you can always find something close to it...

Thanks for everyone's advice and criticism (yes really) apparently this happened to a lot of people at Sears. I did get to spend some time with my family in line, but I thought for some reason they would be a little more organized than Best Buy (went there last year with my dad and had fun). I think this will be the last time I go to an actual store in November. On the plus side I got the PS Display, 32" 1080p TV, a couple SSD's, 5 TB in HDD, 2 graphics cards, and some random stuff online. (not a bad pre-black friday with the sears exception of course)
Well don't worry. Its an experience. My friend also waited almost 6 hours outside SEARS to get the 50 inch Toshiba. He was 12th in line. These guys handed tickets it seems but there were only 4 of them. I had warned him that this would happen. But he tried his luck. He came home and ordered the 47 inch LG LED TV from Frys and will pick it in store tomm. I have done all my BF shopping this time online..I ransacked the PS3 game deals last night on BB and got some cool stuff today from the Fry's sale which I shall pick up online tomorrow. I was trying out a a new dish (Orange Chicken) while my friend was in that line all afternoon.
I am sorry to hear your experience but dont worry, as some folks said watch out and you will get a good deal soon. Good luck. I upvoted the thread :p

You probably came on this thread thinking that this is just some guy who didn’t get what they wanted, and in a way you’d be right. I went to Sears at 9:00am first in line only to get the 50” LED TV. I checked both entrances to see if there was any indication of where to go and there was absolutely nothing. I started waiting at the front of the store and a line soon formed. Around 5:00pm another line started to form at the rear entrance which eventually grew to be almost the same as the front (100+ people). Everyone kept giving us different stories about what was going to happen for the televisions even though the ad says tickets would be handed out. The security told us at around 1:00pm we were in the right spot but around 6:00pm they changed their mind and told us that both doors would be open at the same time with no tickets. This was a problem because the electronic section is in the rear of the store by the other entrance. About two hours before sears was supposed to open someone changing the sign on the front door said that there would be no tickets so a mob formed around the doors. A little after 7:00pm an employee (I now know is the manager) came out to give tickets… only the only tickets handed out were for the 32” which is apparently a 720p TV. The manager said not to worry about the 50” TV’s because they had plenty of them his exact words were “don’t worry about the 50” everybody here is fine.” He told us he would be back with more information… that never happened. The store opened and they made 100+ people from each entrance RUN to the electronic section (they opened the front doors a little late too). To make things worse some dumb employee thought it would be funny to take some pictures of everyone rushing in. I get to one of the two lines for TV’s that literally does not move until every TV is sold out (not kidding).
-First one at sears
-Conflicting stories about what to do
-No tickets (false advertising)
-Making 100’s of people run into each other
-Sold out of everything (no order)
Bonus: People were paying for the TV’s and there were none left
Looks like it made it to the 10:00 news: chaos at the mall
Also had a horrible experience at Sears today. Got there at like 2:30pm today and was like 10th in line. Families and friends kept getting into the line with whoever was there already. They only had 6 32" and 8" 50". All gone by time the clueless manager came to the person in front of us. She literally gave a ticket to a person who just approached here lol. Didn't even do the 1 per household when you can definitely tell they are family. *Sighs
