It is pretty weird but lucky for those who cancelled the old refurb. IP5 16gb back-ordered then placed new order with another refurb. IP5 then got the phone shipped and successful delivered !!! ha ha.
Every time I called in, CSR told me either to wait for the current back-ordered IP5 16g to come in stock or cancel it to buy another Brand New IP5 (any models-colors) without waiting in line ... It Seems everyone has a different funny story about this, apparently Smilie

Changed colors yesterday, shipped yesterday. CSR told 14-21 days. Waited 6 hrs, and it shipped. My white refurb iphone 5 16gb gets delivered this afternoon.

Got off the chatted with ATT around 10:30pm last night, their stock showing -1,200 IP5 white (back-ordered). The blk one back-ordered may less than -1,200. CSR also told could have a possibility getting a shipment of thousands refurb. IP5 all versions come in this week. just an fyi...

thats weird... your numbers conflict with a guy who posted -200 for white? -edit heres what he said

"Order on the Nov. 23, and got the same email this morning. Checked back order counts for the 16gb models - Iphone 5's: 340 for black and 130 for white. The number keeps dropping since last week since people can't order refurbished models at the moment. Made the switch to white this morning because the color is growing on me, and like that it doesn't scratch as much as the black. They allowed me to switch at the same off-contract price $399 and gave me overnight shipping for free. Good deal on a iPhone, don't really care about waiting. I doubt it will take the full 21 days to fill 130 refurbished models. I would imagine they send out at least 25-50 a day. "

After calling yesterday, My UPS informed me that AT&T already shipped the phone and it will be delivered today.

For those interested in stock amounts, the 16GB white with correct SKU showed over 100 in stock according to the person I spoke with yesterday.

I was thought it is only <200 for the white one are back ordered before I chatted with them yesterday too,
He told me the number of white one increase instantly because of a lot people had changed from the black one to get the white one. And he also saw so many customer has cancelled their orders from hours to hours. Therefore the -1,200 for the white one may be already come down to <-1,000 this morning ?!?

As for the canceling and reordering, it's all about who you talk to -- I suggest non-Premier CS first even tho it was a Premier order. The normal CSR worked with Premier for me (who is not wanting to cancel from what she told me).

Holy Cow, that was a nightmare! After reading this thread, I spent the last two days talking to Premier and AT&T regular CSR's. Ordered a white 16GB refurb on Black Friday at 10am PST. Like everyone else, my order status said processing, discontinued iPhone 5.

12 calls to AT&T later, I got an escalation number, spoke to a supervisor (Victoria) who was completely aware of the issue. She said that all of their staff had been notified of the issue, and that some orders were processed with the incorrect SKU number. Their technical team is working on a fix, but at this point the only option is to delete the order and re-enter it. She cancelled my order and was unable to put it back in (the new SKU wasn't showing up in their system). Said it would be in by the end of the day today.

Again, she said that everyone in AT&T Premier Support has been made aware of the problem, specifically that all managers were notified. She said "some reps are choosing not to acknowledge it," she doesn't know why.

As far as inventory, she said they have PLENTY of refurb white 16gb phones in stock. Here's hoping they remember to put my order back in!

AppleCare+ was a no go today. Went in and talked to a Genius. Phone is in the system as being sold on Sept 20th. I showed him my reciept, and then he talked to a manager who called corporate and said "Apple can't stand behind AT&T refurbishment, so the device is ineligible for AppleCare+"

Not the end of the world, I may go squaretrade, or I may just take my chances. I'm already 100 bucks ahead buying the refurb, worst case scenario I have to do an out of warranty replacement for 225 bucks. The remaining standard 1 year warranty is in effect, so I'm good for about 9 months (Sept 20th) on my particular phone.

Yeah my gf was eligible to get on the $199 price in May of next year. But there was a glitch on AT&T's system which allowed her to upgrade for $99. For some reason it didn't work on the computer but it worked through her phone using the mobile browser. I think they fixed the glitch a day after but her phone was already shipped Smilie

On 11/22, I ordered one black 32 Iphone and 1 black 64 Iphone. The 32 was shipped immediately and I got it 3 days later. The black 64 was still under processing until 11/30. On Friday 11/30, ATT rep called my husband to say cancel the order and re-place the same order. They shipped it overnight. He got it yesterday. But the same rep, messed up by also cancelling my text messaging and data plans without our knowledge and permission. My husband said he could barely understand what she was saying because of her thick accent. But, I was there when she called us and we did not make any changes to our plans, just an upgrade to the Iphone 5. I did it online on 11/22 so, it was fine when they processed my order. I had the new Iphone 5 working just fine for a few days until they called to fix the order issue with the 64 Iphone. I called ATT today since my text messaging was not working. I was told that on 11/30, my text and data plans were cancelled by ATT by mistake. You are not even supposed to have no data plan with the Iphone 5. How is that even possible? Anyway, today, they are telling me the plans that I had with them no longer exist and now, they want to upgrade me to higher $ text and data plan. They opened a case for both issues to see if they can find the codes to re-instate my plans. And, they give me a resolution date of 12/13. In the meantime, they are putting me on the pay per use text messaging and the 300 MB data plan, and both are going to end up costing more money. Of course, I will have to fight them over the billing for these fees to be deleted since they made the mistake in the first place. It sucks !

AND, Without any data or texts today, the battery went down from 100% to 47% with 5 calls of less than 2 minutes each! Anyone else experiencing battery drain like this? I might need to exchange the refurbished unit for another unit! The whole thing is turning into a big headache!_

Sounds like a nightmare for sure... at least you got yours

As far as battery life is concerned. I recommend updating to the new iOS....turn the phone off.... let it turn on and charge it all the way....use it until it dies...and recharge it all the way

I read on the forums that this method usually cures the drain problem by
1. addressing the iOS 6.0.0 bugged that is fixed in 6.0.1
2. recalibrates the battery
