I ordered this with my upgrade. Then I went to www.gazelle.com to sell my iPhone 4 for $145. The prices fluctuate though. I tried to sell the same phone a month ago and it was $125.

So I recommend doing this.

So tell what am I missing. You are saving $100 by purchasing a refurb when you can get a brand new one for $199. When you go to sell it in two years you are trying to sell a refurb compared to a one owner phone. You will more than make up your money by purchasing the new phone.

@gan1953 - definitely not true. The current market has mixed used iphones that are one-owner and refurbs. The refurbs are definitely not $100 less than the one-owner. $10 at best.

I stand corrected then. I have sold a few iphones on ebay and when someone puts out that much money I have found them to look pretty close( as much as they can) at the phone. Myself I would definitely take a chance with a one owner phone before I bought a used refurb from a seller. Also I see that the refurbs that sold for more the owners are claiming they are new refurbs directly from the factory, which I may or may not believe

Refurb iPhones usually come with the existing warranty that began when it was first sold new. Not to worry, though. Apple treats refurbs the same as new ones; warranties start when you purchase the phone. All you have to do is go here [apple.com] and enter the serial number of the phone. It'll probably show the wrong coverage dates. There's a link to update your warranty where you can then upload a .pdf of the receipt. Within a few days, you'll get an email saying your warranty's been updated to the correct date. This has worked out fine with every refurb/open-box Apple product I've bought, the latest being a refurb 4S from AT&T.

Great news. I just got deviated by ATT rep who said all refurbs comes with 90 days. Thanks for the info.

That makes no sense. How is the person you are selling it to going to know? Enlighten us please.
