Thread Details

Hey everyone. Wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is having this problem.

We got a Wii U deluxe the other day, but only got around to setting it up last night. The giant update kept us from playing it until today. During normal system use, it works just fine. When we're in a game though, the screen on the TV goes black for a few seconds, then comes back for a few seconds, only to do it again. It's like the TV loses signal over and over.

I've tried changing over to a high quality HDMI cable, but it doesn't help. I've also tried changing inputs on the TV, but they all behave the same way.

I've searched online, but only found two others with the same issue. Ironically, one of them had the same brand TV (Sharp Aquos).

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any workaround, or am I stuck sending this thing back to Nintendo?

I set the TV settings down to 1080i and the problem went away. Bummer that the screen is less "crisp", though.

"Hand gestures have been used around the world for centuries. A gesture using the extended middle finger (sometimes referred to as "flipping the bird") is generally acknowledged to convey an obscene, offensive message: a suggestion to have intercourse with one's self. This gesture is said to have been used by Diogenes, a Greek philosopher, to insult Demosthenes, a Greek statesman."

don't post this crap in hot deals. deal with 1080i until nintendo figures it out and releases a patch. you can also make sure to turn off any hdmi control on the tv and set a fixed resolution on the wii.

Lol there's other forums for Wii U i'm sure, you can't be posting on slickdeals about non-deal stuff in Hot Deals.

Ok, I just walked through my exact same steps as last night.

I POSTED THIS IN THE LOUNGE! How did it wind up in electronics?

Here is what I did:

Went to slickdeals.net (from my phone, galaxy nexus running chrome)
Clicked on "Forums"
Scrolled down and clicked on "The Lounge"
Clicked "New"
Entered a title, then the content of the OP
Did not choose a category
Hit "Submit"
Chose the "Do not post to Facebook" option

So tell me how this ended up on electronics? Is there some script on the forums that attempts to put new posts in the correct category or something? I'm telling you, something is wrong here, and it's not my method of creating a post.... I've been here too long to do something n00b like that.

It's okay...we all make n00b mistakes every now and then. No need to make up some convoluted story to justify it. Smilie Comfort

So, you're going to accuse me of "making up" a story? For what purpose?? It's not like I've been fined, or banned, or have any reason to lie... yet you accuse me of lying by saying I'm "making up" a story??

The steps I went about creating this thread were crystal clear in my memory. I did not post this in the Hot Deals forum. I posted the exact steps of how I created this thread in case there was something screwy with the forums. If you don't want to do anything with that, it's fine. But don't accuse me of making stuff up, because I didn't.
