Xbox 1600 MSP Points for $10 is live in targets (mine did not have a tag)

Same - grabbed all 35 they had. They rang up as $10 so maybe Target's QC/inventory mgmt people updated the sku# to match the ad in the past few hours.

$10 for 1600 msft pts seems clearly a misprint - they probably intended to place the image for the 3mo XBL card there (for $10, as makes sense for a BF deal) but placed the 1600msft points there instead.

Oh well -- loads of cheap DLC for me and my gamer friends.

Are they closed now already? Or are they open until tomorrow?

Pretty sure they're open all night; no limit as far as I could tell. Kind of a money-making machine considering I've never heard of a discount on MSFT points before, but, how much 'inventory' of MSFTpoints do you really want to take on?

'blah'-case scenario: I sell them all at slight discount-to-face ($15, $17 or so) and still make some profit.

Best case scenario: I use 5, give 5 to friends at $10/1600msft pts, and sell 25 @ $15/per. Total take-in of ($10x5)+($15x25) = $425 ... $50 profit and 8000 msft points for free.

Target will not close tonight.

They are only honoring the price of $10 on the card with the white and green logo, not the card with the character on the front. At least at my location, so the logo is important.

Happy to share the info! I hate how expensive (relative to the price of the game) downloadable content has gotten so I'm glad to take the sting out of it any way I can.

Sidenote: if you're worried about getting stuck with MSFT points (ie, buying too many cards) -- consider your friends list (on Xbox live) will probably happily Paypal you $10 for 1600 MSFT points in a week when this deal is looked back upon (with a grin) as having been ludicrous. 'cause it is.

Basically, you can almost certainly get out at cost and benefit people you know (your XBL friends) if nothing more. Happy holidays everyone!

I would say when it comes to Microsoft stuff keep a stockade... We absolutely cleared house with the 7$ Xbox Live Cards at BB last year... I will probably clear house if anything is left today.

Prices will only go up on Xbox Live as more services and products are added (pts included) so if you plan on using the service for a while (I do for the foreseeable future), I would stock up for yourself.

I went last night at the 9:00 opening. My Target didn't want to honor the $10 price that was listed in the ad & keep insisting that I needed to buy the Live cards. I stayed calm,wouldn't leave the check-out line & finally after talking to 3 different associates & a manger, I was able to purchase 20 of the point cards.

Target used to do 25% discounts on 1600 pt cards years ago, but never seen anything close to half off. Doubt MS would ever kill the points system and even if they did I'm sure they'd still honor the cards and give you the $ equivalent on your account.

My Target pulled them from the shelves. I price matched at Walmart.

My Target would only give me the 1600 for $10 for the newer cards. The older cards with the different printing than in the ad did not count they said. They would not waver so I went to walmart and they price matched.
