I think they are not.....and I feel the original post to be pretty misleading (esp. since this is a high-ticket item)

Not authorized. They're misleading on the warranty--the warranty goes through them instead. If you trust them to repair and return your body in the event of a failure, by all means, bite on this deal.

It is misleading, but not on the part of the slickdeal mods. No one has provided official confirmation, but it's obvious--they're not on the reseller list, and in the past they have been advertising inhouse warranties. This is NOT going to come with a canon warranty.

I will only buy from a CANON AUTHORIZED DEALER!! My 5D Mark II i got last black friday still works like a champ.. 5D Mark III is better but meeehhh!

well the OP has clearly put in Canon USA warranty which in itself would make many to believe that they are getting the real deal here....

They are not an authorized dealer. However, if anything happens to your camera, you can turn your camera in back to them and they will send your camera in for warranty repair to Canon. I have not heard of anyone who has done this, and maybe BigValueInc is lying about that service, but it's some small assurance. Those of you who still don't feel good about it can still purchase a SquareTrade warranty on top.

so for a grey market item this looks like a fair price.... assuming we spend another 200/250 on top for square-trade
