Worst companies to exist & Never do business with: gearbest - rakuten aka buy - tigerdirect - officemax - Shop4tech
I got shafted on one of the laptop bags because it went OOS when I had to re-order.
I placed an order at like 2 AM CST and it showed up as null in the system when I called to check the status, even though they sent me an e-mail confirmation.
It was about the time the site was basically crawling.
If you go into the TigerDirect Order Center and click on your order number and get an "Invalid Order Number or Zip Code".... probably the same situation.
Oh well, one less rebate!
i ended up talking with one of the founders of frys but this was for a seperate issue. using my luck to see if this will be shipped for free on the house. like some other stuff i got duped in the past. sorry to hear frys is shafting the td master, looks like we need more TD rebate deals.. i think im going to buy in on the 1tb for $50 just for flipping pleasure.. i really start to doubt if i can flip anything ive bought on here
I have a very similar, slightly different model, HDMI switch that I use on my PC to toggle between Xbox and PC input. It works great, surprisingly. At the low price of (eventually) free, I recommend it.
The rebate for the video card says "This rebate offer is only valid for purchases at Fry's Retail Store Only." Does that also include Frys.com? All of the others specifically mention both B&M and Frys.com.
"Retail store," implies a retail business, which could be either online or B&M. I think you're safe.
man i so wanted that hdmi switch, crap shipping is not available
I have a funny story about that HDMI Switch.
They had the exact same one FAR as part of their annual Fry's Anniversary Sale. It had a $23 Mail-In Rebate on it.
Well, the address they gave on the rebate form was an fake address. I sent it to it and the envelope came back as undeliverable. I called Frys and they contacted the company... and apparently the address was for where their "old operations headquarters was."
They gave me a new address to send it to and I re-sent out my documentation. 4 Months later... I still didn't receive my rebate. I contacted Bytecc at the number listed on their website (since no phone or e-mail is given on the form).
The guy on the phone spoke with a heavy Chinese/Asian dialect and I could barely understand him. He asked me for my name, address, and phone number and told me he would check on the status of the rebate and e-mail me by the end of the day.
No e-mail arrived.... so I called back the next day. The same guy answered and told me that he sent out the check yesterday and I should receive it within 7 to 10 days. I thought... "yeah right". I told him that if I didn't receive my rebate I would be contacting Fry's and they would dock their vendor account.
He assured me I would receive the check. Well... sure enough, I received the check in a hand-written envelope 5 days later. Even the check was hand-written, so I think Bytecc is clearly a one-man operation.
