Damit the ebay deal just ended no more ipad :0(....I was 2 clicks away from finishing my purchase..

This is super hot... if you've never bought an iPad before or really need the retail box. I've purchased many refurbished iDevices and they've always looked brand new /and/ also has 1-yr warranty like their new counterparts. If you're buying for yourself, get a refurb "new iPad" with retina display. Your eyes will thank you. If you're buying as a gift, I'm sure the recipient would rather have a refurb "new iPad" with retina display than a brand new iPad 2. Your friend will thank you.

I have/had and EVO, EVO 3d, EVO 4G LTE, and Galaxy S 2, plus a Gtablet, touchpad flashed with android, and a galaxy tab (was a friend's who let me use it for a month while they were abroad)

Here is why I got my daughter the iPad2 over an android tablet.

1. Apps released on iproducts first. For example: my daughter was REALLY into Super Why from PBS. They had a great app on iOS. Every time my daughter was at my parents house she played that game. By the time the app hit Android, she moved onto another character that had yet to come to android.

2. Why not have both platforms? My daughter will be mainly be using the iPad. But if there are apps on android she would like that aren't on iOS she can use them on my tablet.

3. Resale value. Sure the iPad 2 is old but I bet at this point it is still has a higher resale value than a good bunch of android tablets.

Finally I find it funny that people are talking the iPad2 not being fully supported for updates when my EVO 4G LTE is currently on ICS, my EVO 3D is currently on Gingerbread with my OG Evo.


As for those who are saying the price sucks and it is overpriced. Currently new iPad2 sell for $399, $60 off with no tax for many is a steep discount off that price. Just because you perceive something doesn't have value doesn't mean the cost of that item goes down.

Finally, if you think people should hold out for a newer model at a better price, you could always say that for electronics. Some people feel this is a good enough price point to jump in at.

Don't blame Google for not updating every single contract phone right away. Sprint sucks, they're probably holding back the update to add more bloatware. Get the Nexus 4 and you get the updates first. Or do you really need that kickstand? And root your old phones to get to ICS.

I don't blame google. I don't blame anyone. I knew going in that Jelly Bean may be delayed. But for me having the Micro SD slot/LTE (which is in testing in my area) was worth getting this phone. Also, since Sprint released JB for the Galaxy S3 I doubt it is them holding back the update for the EVO

But I wasn't the one who initially pointed out updates not rolling out to a product, and I was merely pointing out androids less than stellar upgrade reputation. I do find it funny I will be able to use google now on my daughter's iPad before being able to use it on my android phone.

Oh and Google doesnt have the best upgrade track record with CDMA devices. Ask any Verizon customer about how long that took.

But it has, the iPad2 has been FP numerous times since the beginning of the year at $319 from Apple, that's not including with coupon and free smart cover for quite a bit below $300.
