Logitech G500 Mouse, 34.99 @ Newegg FS

Just bought G500 over the G700 on Amazon. For gaming, and hassle free (no batteries), I've never liked wireless. I've don't have problems with the cord getting in the way.

Also, my current mouse wheel is scraped up. I'm guessing a mouse was chewing on the wheel. I must have got some food from my finger on the wheel.

Someone asked about the middle scroll wheel - I do have trouble with it. My mouse is about a year old, when scrolling or trying to middle click the tilt click often gets pressed. This normally goes unnoticed as many applications ignore it but when I'm in illustrator it is a real pain. I would say I hit tilt click about fifty percent of the time I scroll. I also think the middle click is on the stiff side, not terrible though.

Still my favorite mouse, I prefer wired and this mouse doesn't have too many or too few buttons.

I have an MX510 that's 8years old and I just looked at it's feet. The other ones have the little Teflon sticker on them, but the lower right one is so ground down, there's no sticker, and the lip around the edge that holds the sticker in place is gone too. Fully ground down to the base! It looks as if a sticker never went there. Like a pair of shoes with the heel ground down to your foot!

Still works like it did on day one. I'd have a hard time believing that this new mouse will last that long too due to cheaper shit being made these days, but Logitech definitely at least knows how to make a good peripheral.

I wish mice had a mileage counter inside. Would be really cool to know, and a really cool display of endurance on Logitech's part if they wanted to do that...

deal dead, I wouldn't fret though. It seems to go back to the $35 price range regularly. Most likely drop back down to $35 by Christmas time (or even cheaper).

I was reading about this mouse and since I was very interested, I started looking into mousepads and found that the Steelseries 4HD and 9HD are designed specifically for the Steelseries Xai mouse, which uses the same laser sensor as the G500. These are hard mousepads though, not cloth. You missed the Steelseries sale on these mousepads, I think. A few months ago the 9HD dropped to ~$22 on Amazon (normally $35), but now it's back to full price and the 4HD is $19.99.

I will let you know how the combination ends up working out (both G500 and 4HD are on the way).

I just use a decent mouse pad with built-in gel wrist rest, like the stuff on Amazon with some decent reviews. Works great and is plenty accurate. I use to use expensive mousepads but the pad I have now is cheaper, smaller (more compact), and more comfortable and still works great with this mouse.
