For someone who'd use it as is, how slow is it for normal web surfing/emailing, You Tubing, FBook games, etc? I need to get a Christmas gift tablet and the user, although fairly new to pcs, is familiar w/ W7 as that is what they've only used. Please advise and thank you!

I just can't bite on this. It appears to be slower than the Tegra 2 devices if it can't play HD content... I mean, if you want Windows 8 tablet.. okay, but I feel that it will be a little painful

Wondering how good this would be to install bittorrent and just use as a portable media player.
Also can skype from it. Hmm.. I really considering. I just wish you could upgrade ram to 4gb and I'd absolutely be sold - even at an additional $50 4gb of ram would make this a sweet deal. USB, HDMI, SD card slot - I'm still considering it for the wife since all she does is skype and internet surfing. For $232 and discover cashback - Can get a 64gb one for about $225 shipped. not a bad price, just needed win8 to get it's potential, I might try at $200 but after CA tax/fee it's not that slick anymore

I always wondered why not? Is it a windows issue? I mean, I have a $29 Phillips DVD player that upscales and outputs 1080 video and I'm positive the processor / memory in that isn't nearly as powerful as this processor combo. Also, aren't x86 processors much stronger than arm processors? That's a big reason that Microsoft put the RT version on their Surface? Either way, there are a few reviews that have put Windows 8 on this and say it's much quicker. |

Almost pulled the trigger. Running windows 7 now on my 3-year old Atom based netbook with 2GB RAM and 64GB SSD. Figured this Atom had to be upgrade....but no...1/3 slower..... can't handle that!
