Yeah, I have to agree. I only bought two things, both online. I got Madden 13 and some Turtle Beach headphones. I didn't see any deals worth going to B&M for on Thursday or Friday. Underwhelming shopping season for me.
Yes. As people get better at deal hunting, we become "snobs" to other deals. I still think some BF and CM stuff is good but obviously later on in the next year things will be cheaper.
Personally I think it's thanks to the existence of SD and finding sales all year around (even cheaper than BF/CM at times) that made us all "spoiled."
I didn't discover SD until early 2011 and before then, I didn't know about what was the best deal and get suckered into "deals" from ads from mail and email. Later you find out, those deals from ads aren't always the best deal nor anywhere close to it.
But once someone commits themselves to SD, a whole new world of shopping opens their eyes to them.
Sure, there'll probably be a good deal for certain items on BF but in my experience, those who already are on SD are less prone to be suckered into waiting HOURS AND HOURS OF LINE in front of department stores and electronics stores as we are more prepared to know what we want.
My days of line waiting are over now, all I need is a laptop/PC and good internet and bam, research and buy, done.
