Yeah really. I hear Christmas sales will be on Nov 27th lol.

Considering how the majority of the deals are now available online, and then making those deals available earlier in the week, it's really making the whole "standing in line for hours and hours or days" less and less necessary.

It is always that way. With rare exception, most of the BM deals are just limited supply gimmicks to get you in the store.

I agree. Except for a very small number of items, this year there really wasn't anything in store that you couldn't get online.

"Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" are both becoming farcical. The day after Thanksgiving used to be the day that everyone started getting into the Christmas spirit. Do some shopping, decorate the house, etc. Now they stand in line for a day to save $50 on a TV they've somehow managed to live without up until that point. A lot of the "BF" "deals" that people were standing in line for were available online hours before the stores even opened.

Even beyond that, they started pumping out sales the entire week leading up to Thanksgiving. So thanks to B&M stores selling items online on Thursday, Amazon pretty much price matching everything, and now stores releasing "Cyber Monday" deals on Saturday, Cyber Monday is just a great catchphrase for the first day back to work for many people, not the day everyone buys things online while at work.

In a few years Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be meaningless terms, if they aren't that already.

Cyber Monday... "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Yup. They had a news story in the NY area about these two guys that camped out in front of a Worst Buy for 1.5-2 days to be first in line to get the TV and some other stuff. They probably would have been better off just going online and seeing what deal they could come up with.

In general, in this day and age why anyone goes to a BM store to purchase anything other than groceries and maybe some tailored clothes is beyond me. It is generally cheaper online. You get cashback from various shopping portals and the stuff is delivered to your door.
