Make $30 or $40 after PM/AR Quickbooks Simple Start 2013 Office Depot or Staples

I'm not doing MIR's anymore.. I've done tons of them, but now that the unwritten step of "fax submission + repeated phone calls" is now part of the process.... this is true for Parago and it's true for whatever fly by night garbage company handles tiger direct rebates (either Afligo / SystemMax / WWR )

Faxes, plus the "invoice" vs "email receipt" BS... and multiple phone calls to get them to DO their job...


Fortunately, I expect them to pull this BS and I'm prepared... but screw it, it's no longer worth the time and effort

Quickbooks is definitely shady, don't think anyone here reported them getting the rebate without re-submitting.. For what it's worth, haven't had any trouble with my TigerDirect rebates. I did the webcam one and most recently the headset one, just waiting on one more rebate for the headset, but it shows received online.

If tigerdirect went back to its own self, then it would be very difficult to deal with. From what you are saying, they probably are trying to test the water to see the reaction of the few people that they target.

Can't agree more with your sentiment. I am not going to touch any rebates such as Norton, intuit. I heard a few people that have problems with Kaspersky and one person said that he had problem with trend micro. If this is a trend, then adios for me except Staples easy rebates. I need to figure out an easy way to cash the rewards from OD. Otherwise I have no more incentives to do any rebates.

I'll make an exception for OD.. and just deal with the MIR hassle, knowing that I'll have to go through the extra steps. as it's pretty much the only way to make their rewards program useful

but otherwise, I'll just stick to SER's

as for tiger, I had always stayed away from their MIR's due to their historically horrendous reputation.. but everyone seemed to think they had mended their ways. so I gave em shot.. 0 for 2.. and on a measly $25 rebate.. not worth any future headaches

and I've never touched Fry's MIR's..


ultimately, rebates are a bet by the companies doing them.. and the % payout is obviously hitting higher than they bet on.. so, I expect MIRs to be particularly problematic going forward

if you choose to participate in this game, you had damn well better make sure you've documented/copied/and kept excellent records in a spreadsheet...

For the record, I submitted 3 different claims with 3 different info, all wound up "never received". I had to blow cash sending all 3 back for the "money back guarantee". Customers shouldnt be required to jump through the entire circus to recover their money from rebate promotions.

Yep, 3 rebates for 3 different promotions during Black Friday have never been "received". My friend and I sent ours out the same day and his got "received". I think they just randlomly picked some envelopes and then "forgot" the rest. I agree with you that I would have never thought Intuit became shady like this!

Wow, looks like I'm not the only one getting screwed on the Intuit rebate. I've submitted via mail twice, and both times they claim they've not received. Now they are telling me to submit via email....this has been going on for so long now, I'm not sure it's worth any further effort.

Definitely no more Intuit, and no more DL software rebates. At least with the boxed versions, you can return/get 60 day money back guarantee.

I've submitted two as well. And there are no records of this online. this is so annoying. Gonna try following up with them

In the same exact situation - received email to resubmit yesterday and today the status was changed to invalid/invliad Company ID. I would need to call them.
What number to call?

OK, three of my submissions were marked as invalid for the following reasons as of yesterday:
1. No original UPC (right, I stapled it with the receip and the form!)
2. Pending Intuit review
3. Invalid company ID

I bought those from newegg, OD, and Staples, respectively.

What a coincidence!! They never received my mail-in items also. It's strange that the USPS would lose so many envelopes addressed to them.
