Would 8gig be a real difference on this one compared to 4?
I got 2 of these laptops coming so I was thinking of taking the 2 gig out of the one and adding to the other and then installing 8 gig in the other.

It will definitely improve the longevity of the laptop; you could also consider throwing a SSD in as well. To be honest the only handicap would be the processor.

I received mine in the mail yesterday even though it said it hadnt been picked up by UPS from BB yet. I havent used it yet but it really doesnt look too bad

I picked up mine from BB store yesterday. I wanted to upgrade the ram and the HDD to SSD since I have some lying around. I had to take out the keyboard to replace the Ram. Then had to take apart the whole laptop to reach the hard drive.

I created 2 DVD recovery media to install the OS on the SSD (240 GB intel 520). But it refused to install in the SSD since its smaller than 296GB.

Tried to clone the existing HDD with acronis true image. Since its using uefi bios, could not get it to boot from SSD.

What a pain. Planning to take it back to BB.

Would it have worked if you just upgraded the ram? Was that part difficult? Am thinking of doing this.

Ram upgrade is not that difficult. You do not have to unscrew any thing. Just open the keyboard. Follow the youtube video, though its for a different model, the ram upgrade is similar.
