Anyone else notice how slow Sat and Sun were at retailers?

Yes I went to the outlets in my area Saturday morning. Normally from Thanksgiving night til Christmas you are hardpressed to find a parking spot. I showed up at about 11am and it looked like a Wednesday morning in February, just desolate.

Went to my local Target, BestBuy, and Macys all of them look like a regular weekend. I even mange to snag some of the Target and Macy Doorbusters deals the day after...

I had to go out today, and I was pleasantly pleased that it was not crowded at all. I thought it was going to be swamped.

Four more years like the last four. Who is feeling good right now? Thanks America!

it was also because most places opened thursday night. most people went out for the crazy blockbusters and went home, even the friday day was pathetically quiet in comparison to the other years

Was there a reason to go out on Saturday? Only thing I waited for Saturday for was a purchase from TRU with my Groupon $10/$20 deal (and luckily they still had what I needed). Toys R Us deal for Saturday was 10% off anything in the store - thats hardly worth going out for. Went to Wal-Mart as well and yep, they were in recovery mode from the prior day's storm. Nice and mellow. Their video game and electronics dept was a disaster though still, poor employees were still picking up the pieces.

With great deals being found on Thursday and Friday, and potentially more deals coming up tomorrow for Cyber Monday, who would go shopping on the 2 days inbetween? I'm resting up from my lack of sleep on BF, and my debit card is cooling down from the those smokin Microsoft deals. Should be nice and cool in case they restock tonight!! Fingers crossed!

I had to go out and pick my daughter up on Friday morning at 6:30am (she was sick from working all night when VS opened at 12:00am). Anyway, my wife took her home and I went to Walmart. Parking lot was empty and it was the fewest amount of people that I have ever seen at a Walmart. Didn't find anything I wanted and left. Was really strange.

An economy rebounding from the Bush debacle

Hopefully this will translate through the numbers and make retailers realize that opening on Thanksgiving is a bad idea. If they would just stick to an early open on Friday that push moves through the weekend, rather than people being exhausted from family/cooking all day Thursday and then shopping that night.

I think it's because of how early they open now. i'm not a fan of opening on thanksgiving day, it's getting ridiculous
