I got a few PMs about that Page Plus dealer that I re-posted after getting my 3G working. So here are the answers to your questions.
I got his information from who posted in the forum. What does he do he writes your EMI and phone number to his phone test phone and then activates it on PP. Then he captures your keys on the test phone (effectively cloning your phone) and then uses team connect to apply them back to your phone. And makes a copy if you need to restore with the keys again, he also gave me a new prl. That he indicated was configured for speed and adjusted some of my setting. What did you give him, I gave him 10.00 through Pay Pal, I thought that was fair for the 5 mins of his time but really I don’t know if he thought that was enough or fair. Hard to tell when someone asks you to let your continence decide. I ordered something else from him and I know that he included about a 50 commission on the same service I could find on eBay for $50.00 less and so I thought that would fill in the gaps if my 10 dollars did not cover it, I didn’t mind paying the extra 50 because he offered support for it and he seems knowledgeable in this area and I have better things to do with my weekends than researching and entirely new field of technology. He has not emailed me do you know why? Well last time I spoke to him he indicated that he had done about 40 3 G activations for slick dealers and that most people had contributed for his time. I know that he also has a full time job so I don’t know….Maybe he has had enough maybe he doesn’t have the time, maybe folks are not giving him enough $ for his time. If you are desprate I guess you could send him and email with the amount you are willing to pay and see what happens. I ordered and Verizon Branded phone from ebay and had it activated on Page Plus and it got the keys. OMG the whole think took my 5 min and that’s because I had to pee in the middle. Activating Verizon branded phones (provided it’s got a clean ESN and not balance due from the previous owner) is easy as pie. Call PP setup the account do the over the air programming done. I bring them up because you can find well priced Verizon phones on ebay for the rest of the family and once you try Page Plus you will not go back to your old carrier. No messing around with keys or anything 3g right away Last edited by LILLYS_CLOSET; 01-06-2013 at 03:34 PM.. |

I was wondering before I bothered him again if anybody here might be able to tell me what's up with the MMS. I did the steps mentioned in the wiki, and it's still coming up with the unable to send message-Generic network failure error. Edit: I'm just going to use an app for mms, at least for now. That seems to be the quickest way around the problem. After reading some more I'll try and tackle fixing the stock messager. Edit: I had to uninstall 3rd party app and correct the settings as mentioned by LILLYS_CLOSET. Last edited by tg2430; 01-08-2013 at 06:30 PM.. |

Hi check your syntax i originally posted this and its been working well on 5 phones that i know of and more than likely 100s of slickdealers. Do you have a data package you need one for MMS
This seemed to fix MMS. Dial ##3282# Select edit mode enter your code (hopefully you have changed it to 000000) Go to Advanced ==> MMSC Setting Name= Production MMS= http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms Port= clear this field leave it blank Proxy = clear this field leave it blank For those of you that are interested in de-branding the phone a little bit and removing some of the Virgin Mobile apps. There is an app for that…sorry I could not resist. The phone must be rooted. Download No Bloat Free from the app store and you can now remove all those Virgin Mobile Branded apps including activation. What did I remove? I removed all the language packs for space except for English and Spanish incase of resale. I removed the sprint installer (anything that says sprint) and the anything that said virgin mobile. I also removed the two red buttons one was for activation and the other for downloads, the download button comes back just not branded virgin mobile. And then I moved all my apps to the SD card and rebooted. Everything is working well and the only think that is left is the VM insignia on the back of the phone and I don’t really care about that and my Otter Box Case covers that, and the actual Virgin Mobile banner, I have been thought enough with this phone that I am not going to decompile that system file to change it and the common apps to change it don’t seem to be on that app store anymore so I can live with it....welll i say that now. Has anyone changed their banner. I think that there is an eri.xml with it already chaged to PP out there and i have it somewhare but it was not important enought to try. Also check out Songza like Pandoria but very different. Finally I am just staring to work on my slider and I have to say....it kind of smokes the V One in terms of responsiveness I was actually really impressed. I am going to put the slider on Page Plus too. I rooted it and de- branded it using the same app. Not as much to remove and at a quick glance did not see any language packs. Smaller screen but a nice phone and definitely more responsive then the HTC ONE the speakers alone smoke it and it would make a really nice what ever you need it to be. I was helped by the same guy as some of you were and he seems to be very nice. He helped me obtain 3G on my phone initially. I sent him $10 for that. When I attempted to unlock my husband's I ran into an issue. He helped me to fix that, and after I finished the process and was ready to get the 3G done on that handset, he did it. I sent him $15 for that. He mentioned how he'd done so many of these for people recently, likely many from this forum. I thought that the payments I'd sent were fair and told him I hoped he wasn't offended at my donation amount. He did mention that my two amounts were larger than most, that he appreciated them and that he'd done 5 phones for a guy who didn't pay anything at all. He didn't think that was very cool but it didn't seem to stop him from helping anyone else so he's definitely gracious. He may be busy but he was awesome about getting back to me, so maybe a quick email with an offer like LC suggested.

To anyone that has a rooted phone actually on Virgin Mobile or has been helped by Mr. Sedd/Edd gentleman can you please check your phone and provide me a little information. In the dialer app, as if you were planning on making a phone call please press ##debug# or ##33284# tap EVDO Engineering and scroll down to the bottom of the screen and as long as you do not have airplane mode on, I believe it says AN/AAA authentication and reads 1 = authenticated. I think this allows 3G to work if authenticated. Can anyone confirm this correct?
Now the one I am must interested is when you dial ##data# or ##3282#, EPST tab will pop and say View Mode or Edit Mode. For what I need please press edit mode and enter your MSL/SPC code which is mostly likey 000000 unless he set it back to default. At this point click the Data Profile and scroll to the bottom of the page. Does your HA & AAA Shared Secret(s) show <Failed> and if not what does it say? If anyone responds can you please let me know whether your on PagePlus and been helped by the guy above or whether you are on Virgin Mobile. Thanks in advance. ps. If you decide to change anthing in EPST mode hit menu button and Commit Modifications if you desire to. pps. Here are some commands that work with this phone but be very very careful with them. If you reset your phone it may, not sure but may wipe out your HA & AAA Shared Secret keys. ##3424# DM Mode (Diag Mode) ##3282# MIP Profile ##33284# Debug Screen ##MSL Code# Change MSID & MDM(phone#) ##25327# Clear (reset) settings ##786# Factory Reset Last edited by JM7; 01-06-2013 at 09:45 PM.. |

OK: rep to the person who can help. I just want to get the photos off of my phone and onto my pc. I spent an hour working with that 'HTC sync' crap and could only find a way to transfer from my pc to my phone.
Is there an easy way to transfer pics like a digital camera? |

Mr. Sedd/Edd is the man , 3g & great price will use him again
this is how you can tell if your addicted to SlickDeals
by afsammie I'm not exactly sure what I just ordered, but I think I'm pretty pleased about it if it's what it might be, but then again, I have no idea exactly what it is... but that's the nature of slickdeals. Thanks OP! I think. |
