I see 3G symbol with up and down arrow next to wireless bars. I do not see 1x or 3x if this is what you are asking. I also pretty much followed wiki for activating phone by PP. I did not bother with 3G. were you able to send a MMS successfully through verizon ams app? I am sorry if what i mentioned is not 3G since i do not have 3X.
I am able to send SMS through the verizon app but not MMS. You are probably using a ROM which doesn't display the 1x and 3x speeds like mine, instead always shows 3G reardless. I am running a Cyanogenmod based custom ROM which always displays 1x for me. Other than running a speedtest I don't know how else you can verify your speed level.

Hi,
I just am using stock ROM. I was tempted to use a custom ROM, but since some of the functions will not work, i figured I will stay with stock ROM. I got rid of some annoying stock apps using the app No Bloat Free. this made it clean up some stuff,
Regarding the MMS, Since the Wiki procedure did not fix the MMS problem I downloaded verizon app based on recommendation of folks in howardforum or something like that. I tested it works,
Regarding the speed, i tested in my area, 128Kbps Down, and 152 Kbps Up when i ran the speediest.net app
terrible speeds but i checked people get even worse with sprint it seems in some areas. so I am not too concerned abt speed now. as long i get net for some emergency i am fine with it.
