Got mine today, looks like it's the coiled cable after all.

and im jamming with them right now. they are as the ppl say. really great headphones. I was skeptical but they sound really wonderful and worht $100 easily. I don't even bother with the Bose QuietComfort 15s anymore, and I never thought much of them Bose ones to begin with. =D
