It's part of the ad, it's between page 2 and 3, the page says Page A on the front and Page B on the back. Page A has store coupons and 2 doublers, Page B says Stock up and save on all your Fall Favorites and has items on sale.

Gas prices went up 10 cents a gallon today in Los Angeles. They might be up 35 cents a gallon this week. This appears to be statewide http://www.mercurynews.com/traffi...yrocketing

This was once a Smith's/Food King/Food Giant/Lucky market before it became a Ross Dress for Less...I remember shopping the last day it was a Lucky...they had unlimited double coupons to clear out everything. It would make a great addition to the southern part of Westwood (known as Tehrangeles if you look at Google maps)...

No matter Fresh & Easy is in the Red with market, they are still expanding.

Big 3 plus Stater Bros must be really hurting especially the Big 3. I overheard Manager and Regional Manager conversation in dining area talking about closing 7 under-performing stores in Southern California by Summer 2013 while siting in the Pavilions dining area. The store are closing are in markets with growing Latino community. They do not understand why Latinos do not want to shop at Vons/Pavilions with better service, cleaner stores and better paying Latino employees working at Vons/Pavilions.

I should said something like: You are over price, your good customer service is a myth and you do not carry a large inventory benefiting Latino community. Oops, you cancelled double coupons too.

By the way, Kohl $10/$30 coupons peelies on LA Times, OC Registered and Press Telegram this morning.

Gas stations are starting to run out of gasoline in California due to production problems as we have a California only produced blend of gas. I saw this myself at two independent gas stations near LAX today that had no gasoline this morning. Keep your tank filled.

Except for the part about the inventory, that's not why they don't do well with Mexicans (Mexicans don't consider themselves Latino or Hispanic). It's because they like to deal with their own. I interact with them a lot and shop at a few Mexican stores such as Vallarta, ValuPlus and Superior. Their prices are for the most part, as high as Ralph's with the exception of produce. I am the only one using coupons in any of the stores and none of them double.

As much they respect that I speak fluent Spanish, they are more comfortable with their own. I sell to Mexicans at the swap meet and they buy from me and turn around and sell the same items for retail price to their customers who try to get a lower price from me when I have the same item (which is why I mainly sell to other vendors).

Stores that cater to Mexicans might as well be in central Mexico. For the most part, unless you speak and read Spanish and are accustomed to their food, you'll be out of luck shopping there. Everyone speaks Spanish and all of the signs are in Spanish. None of the big chains carry the produce, candy and foods that Mexicans eat on a daily basis unless its in the "ethnic" aisle. Numerous times I have seen people walking up to employees asking if they speak Spanish (in Spanish) and they have to go find the ONE person in the store that does. How is that in Southern California? One of the reasons the big chains are suffering is that they fail to see the value in accommodating the needs and wants of the Mexican/Latino people.

Ohh,and as far as the service goes, I've only had to call Corporate on any of the Mexican stores once and that was due to a wayward security guard telling me I couldn't buy as many newspapers as I wanted. They are very nice when it comes to being helpful.
