Sorry for the OT but I am hoping to possibly save some people frustration when cooking for Thanksgiving.
Ralphs has done it again.,,,,,
I went in tonight to get 2 of the 10 lb bags of Russet potatoes and fortunately I opened a few bags and checked them. They were Starting To Mold Already and some had eyes that had already formed. They were all damp to slightly wet and being in a closed plastic bag like that causes them to go bad quickly. the produce person checked in the back for me and they had a full pallet there- all in the same condition. They claimed they were going to pull them from the selling floor but I did not stick around to see. They gave me 2 5 lb bags for each 10 lb bag and the 5 lb bags were fine.
From my past experience if 1 Ralphs has them like this then all the local Ralphs have them in the same condition. They all come out of the same warehouse. I am in San Diego.
Again sorry for the OT but I am hoping I can save someone the trip back to the store with moldy (and stinky) potatoes.

Hey all. I finally have something to share!

I was reading about the Butterball/Nestle catalina in the Northwest Region Albertsons thread. There was no mention of it working here, but it does!

I got the 3lb boneless roast and 4 cans of Carnation evaporated milk. This combination spits out a $10 catalina.

There are other Nestle items involved in the promo, but the milk is the cheapest since there are .50/2 qs from the 9/30RP.

How much is the roast?

That sounds like a great deal! Can you tell me the price of the turkey? Also, is the cat a store or man q?
The roasts were $12.99. The cat is a man q, but has Albertsons name on it. $5.97 net per transaction.

I always try to look for bags that are not totally opaque or have some type of closure that I can open. I bought a 10 lb. bag at Fresh & Easy on Friday and they are perfect. When you bring them home, always take them out of the plastic and dump them into a paper bag and leave it in a dark, cool place.

Los Angeles Times is discontinuing their Weekend edition of the L.A. Times on newsracks for $1.50. Only the Sunday Los Angeles Times will now be available...on Sunday only...for $2.00. I don't know about in-store purchases.

Awesome! I would also like to throw out there that there is a rebate form at Albertson's for $6.00 off turkey or ham wyb Budweiser beer.

There is a beer deal going on at Staters, $12.97 for a 20 pack of Bud, and you get a bag of Doritos for 1 cent. There are coupons stuck to most of the boxes of Bud for $2 off wyb Bud and Doritos. So it is $10.98 (plus tax and CRV) for a 20 pack of Bud and a bag of Doritos. Great deal if there are any beer drinkers out there. We would buy the beer anyways, so it's awesome to get the chips, and qualify for the $6 rebate too!

Thanks for this great info. I ran out to do it but it didint work for me! I know tha catalina machine was working as I got a discover catalina. I got the 4 carnation evaporated milk & butterball boneless roast but there where 2 different kinds wondering if that is why I didnt get it. One was a boneless turkey breast and the other was the dark/white meat roast. Which one did you get?
Thanks & repped

Albertsons just posted their gift card promo on Facebook.

Purchase $100 in gift cards between 11/18 and 11/29 and receive a $20 grocery certificate valid on your next grocery purchase (and that is $20 off $20...make sure if there is any tax that your total is $20 plus tax...the certificate won't work otherwise). Certificate is valid for 7 days.

This is a change from past years in that this promo starts BEFORE Thanksgiving and is valid for a longer period (but not the grocery certificate). The list of particpating gift cards seems to get more limited each time, too.

Particpating gift cards:

Macy's
Kohl's
Sears
AMC Theatres
Regal Entertainment (Cinemas) Group
Applebee's
Romano's Macaroni Grill/On The Border/Maggiano's Little Italy
Lowe's
Bass Pro Shops
iTunes
Groupon
Does anyone know if we have to purchase the gcs separately to get get the 20 cat free? I'm looking to buy 4 $100 sears gcs and get $80 in cats free. Will that work?

Hmmm. Not sure why it didn't work, either. The first time I went through the line the catalina machine was down so nothing printed. When the manager did a test run at another register the ad for this deal actually printed.

I got two of the white meat boneless roasts and one savory herb roast. Maybe submit your receipt info to catalina and have them mail the q.

There's also a Butterball rebate [butterball.com]. 5 $1 qs to be used on other Butterball products.

Be on the lookout at Ralphs for a Spiderman movie display. There is a tearpad with 2 coupons, one for free Energizer batteries wyb Spiderman, and one for free Pirate's Booty (up to $2.79), and there is no additonal purchase needed! The price at Ralphs is $2.79, so FREE! Coupon expires 11/21, and says limit one coupon per consumer....

Ad says "Limit One Per Qualifying and Redeeming Transaction".

To me that says limit ONE purchase on both ends (both purchasing the gift cards for the coupon and also redeeming the $20 coupon).

I would split my gift card purchases just to be safe. Once activated, they can not be returned. In the past, you could not use more than one $20 Catalina per order...that seems to be the same this time.
