Can someone please provide a link to good additional RAM for this? Please help a newbie out...

I found a helpful review/performance/tweaking thread if anyone landed this and wants to help optimize the machine and post benchmarks:

There are now a bunch of downloads available here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Sup.../#download

Tomorrow I'm going to benchmark it, then install another 4GB of RAM, then go into the BIOS and tweak the video settings (I think someone here mentioned there was a setting in the BIOS anyways), and re-benchmark it. Hopefully that extra 4GB of RAM adds a performance boost.
Another quick question here.. I tried to update the drivers on my laptop but it says they are up-to date. Some of them have their versions the same as mine but the dates do not match. Do anyone had to update their drivers for anything?

added 4GB of RAM. tweaking the BIOS had zero effect on the index score, so I just set it back to defaults. The hard disk rating magically went up somewhere in the mix, couldn't tell you why/how exactly...

if anyone else has this ultrabook - can you please install cpu-z and check the graphics tab? i'm still concerned that mine read such a high value (1798 Mbytes accoring to my screenshot) at first but now i can't get it to read anything beyond the 64-512 Mbytes that I have it set at in the BIOS. i actually just put it back to 64 in the BIOS because that's where it was at when it magically read 1798 Mbytes in CPU-Z... hmmm...
mine also shows 1798 Mbytes on CPU-Z

I already addressed this.

The hard drive fluctuations are a result of the ssd caching.

The graphics fluctuations in cpu-z are due to the fact that it's dynamic.

If you're still concerned just return the laptop and buy a toaster.

check it a few more times randomly for me. just let me know if it ever fluctuates.

i hear ya buddy, and i'd like to take your word for it, but i'm skeptical because i don't see it ever fluctuate, and i've opened up games, youtube videos, and stuff that i would think would make it fluctuate, and i can't get it to deviate AT ALL from the 64MB i currently have it set at... and now that edhunter opened his up and it says 1798 Mbytes, which is what mine said before I fiddled with the BIOS...

yeah my windows updates says everything is up to date, but i'd have to imagine a lot of those drivers (with dates of late october) are not on my ultrabook already... i tried installing the latest touchpad driver from the asus site, and it didn't work, can't remember what it said though...

Anyone has this problem. When viewing YouTube in the desktop IE on full screen mode all the other related you tube videos are not hidden. But if you use on the IE from metro UI it does not have this problem. Not sure if this is an issue with win 8 or the laptop an I think it must be a software hitch. Can any one check? Otherwise I am very happy with this purchase and a steal at $500 with the touch screen.

i was a long-time firefox user, then switched to chrome about two years ago, and gave the new IE a chance with this ultrabook, but i couldn't make it past a few hours... i installed chrome and won't look back... no issue like you mentioned with chrome btw.

I have cloned the HDD to ssd (128gb) via clonezilla(partition by partition & with help of gparted). I was able to restore the recovery partition but it is shown as regular filesystem than a recovery partition. Usually the content of the recovery partition is shown as 1 single file on that partition. But that's not the case it shows multiple files/folders.

Anyone know how to restore it as a real working recovery partition?

Hi
People who find the trackpad a pain, please uninstall ASUS smart gesture and install the Elantech driver from Asus which is down below.. Works much better and precise than the gesture.. Also, I went into the zip folder and only installed the 64 bit version and not x86

trying it now. To be clear, did you download the windows 8 64bit driver? Or did you choose the one from the link which was the Windows 7 version?

EDIT:

Tried it. Think I prefer Asus Smart Gesture.

Thanks for pointing it out... I guess I did the Win 7 version.. My mistake.. Try the Win 8 64 bit version.

It definitely is more precise. I think I just prefer the floatiness of Smart Gesture - I guess I've already gotten used to it.

For those who wanted something more precise, thank this guy.

On another note,

LOVING THIS LAPTOP!

Informational purpose only. No responsibility on me

Unfortunately, our Asus laptop (S400CA-UH51T) does not have a built-in bluetooth unlikely what the MS store described on their website earlier. Adding an external bluetooth dongle will eat up one of three USBs. If you are ok with it, there is no further need to read this article.

I use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard (when using 2nd and 3rd monitors). I use a bluetooth headset. I transfer many files and pictures between PCs, Galaxy phone, and tablet. Bluetooth makes my life easier. However, I was deeply disappointed when I found there was no built-in bluetooth in my Asus.

So I had to find my way

Here is a link that briefly explains about REGULATORY of installing a WLAN
http://communities.intel.com/thread/31247

Due to the regulatory, I am not suggesting anything. I won't take any questions about this article either. I only show you what and how 100% possible to have a built-in bluetooth.

Hi
There is a review for x202e in amazon where the reviewer talks about how this will work and what did not work. That is for the 11 inch model so this one should also work in the same fashion.
