I've had a 32" Quantum (rebranded Hisense) for a couple of months. For the money the TV has been amazing. Picture quality is great. Audio is okay for kids shows but lacking for my taste (as expected from this class of TV) Audio is hollow at high volumes. Distortion starts at about 50% of max volume. Just ordered a sound system to supplement the audio. |

I got in on this via the TD refurb deal. I'd call it a respectable buy at $300. The upscaling chip isn't that nice (SD->HD scaling, 720-1080 is fine) and the speakers are only adequate but the panel itself seems pretty decent once you tweak the default color settings a bit. |

I now realize that the reviews on sound quality are poor and fortunately I have a sound system. If it is really poor then Costco is nice to refund even the shipping cost.
![]() Another thing to think about is the response time (6.5ms) its kind of in between Samsung (4-5ms) and TCL (8ms). From what I have seen - cheaper TVs have higher response time and more expensive TVs have it lower. One can argue that all these TVs are 60Hz so response rate wont make much difference. Now, I dont know. Any experts? |

I've been eying this thing as a BF backup plan for a week now and I just pulled the trigger on it. FWIW, I did go and look at it in person last night (my walmart had it on display at $378) and I was pleased with the picture. I also played with the sound a bit and seemed to be almost as loud as the others (and certainly loud enough for normal use).
If nothing else, I can return it to costco and buy something else if/when prices drop in Jan. Costco really does need to offer free ship to store though! |

I got this delivered on Monday and just got it hooked up and running. This is my first LED... I'm fairly impressed with it, I have seen none of the sound issues mentioned in older reviews so I would say they must've been fixed with firmware. I will say the TV is very bright (keep in mind I'm coming off of an old CRT set) but I'm still playing with some of the picture settings. I really have no major complaints and it seems like a nice value and it's backed by costco. My biggest issue is that the hisense brand is not in the database of remote control codes from my Tivo (original Premiere), so to be able to get the Tivo remote to control the hisense on/off, input and vol buttons I may need to upgrade to the Tivo glo remote (which is learning)... all in all a minor issue. |
