Yes you have to get a center channel. It is the most important. all of the dialog comes from this channel.

Totally agree....TV above fireplaces is a MAJOR no no unless you want to visit your chiropractor and get your neck adjusted. Watching football all day saturday and sunday.....Chiropractor on Monday.

Worst design idea. You might as well put it on the ceiling.

I missed this a few days ago i checked first thing this morning and ordered this. I mis measured the first time and bought monitor 30's for the front (monitor 60 or 70 wont fit) and then discovered monitor40's would have fit.

Monitor30's were out for delivery today so I couldnt cancel the order. Hopefully the cs2 does not drown out the monitor30's.At least I hope not.

given the room layout the living area is too narrow to position the tv any other place. So far we've been in the house a few months cant complain with neck pain. Most of the time its the tv watching me sleep rather then me watching the tv.

The thought behind speaker systems is that the best sound is achieved when the sound field from your speakers match. At the very least, your front 3 speakers (Left, Right, Center) should be balanced (i.e. from the same manufacturer) and, if possible, from the same speaker line.

In general you would hear more dialogue, but part of that has to do with your Receiver/AMP and how it is set up. The risk, of course, is that it will likely overpower your current speakers.

If you're thinking about getting this, I would recommend replacing your fronts as well. You can replace your surrounds later if a little short on cash.

I've got ceiling polks rc80's what is the best center to pair with these?

Well this compelled me to buy, but not through Newegg since they have the solid black front. I picked up the silver front on Ebay for $138 shipped with a few Ebay bucks back. I have the silver front Monitor 70's so I'd prefer the center to match with the covers off. Paid more, but it will look great.

I have an almost "all-Polk" setup. A pair of 60's for fronts and a pair of T15's for surround and a CS10 sub-woofer. Missing a center because of space

I will be trying a smaller center (Cerwin Vega VE-5C) and see what it can do to my setup.

Placed my order for one of these and 2 monitor 70's roughly 3 hours ago and still no confirmation. I think newegg servers are having issues...
