On ebay, they never disappear in an instant, or ever, the price is always 99 cents for the 6ft ones... and they ship from the USA, so you get them within the week. Not sure how these HDMI deals for more than a dollar always get posted, with many of them going front page, when eBay's normal price is this.
I don't know what you mean by them being "still great if you look at the next best available price at the time of purchase" since it's 1.49 for a 3ft and 2.49 for a 6ft cable, when both are 99 cents shipped on eBay (with shipping they can't be making any money, but probably doing it to buy seller reputation points, which is great for you the buyer, as long as you're not stupid enough to give them seller feedback, especially on those international 1 cent screen protectors. They do this so that they can just list tons of expensive items, when they have thousands of 99% positive ratings, and just not ship out the 200, $100+ auction items, and then just close their account promptly after collecting the money.) That being said, you get these auctions very cheap shipped, and just don't leave feedback.
I'm guessing there should be a permanent front page deal on eBay HDMI cables, with a general search sorted by price being the link, as most individual auctions being for 1-10 cables, so the link is constantly changing, but always there from another seller. I've yet to pay $1.00 or more for an HDMI cable. The only slickdeals HDMI cable deals I look at are the 10ft ones, but I've gotten burned on those, with the slickdeals cables being as thin as USB cables, while I've yet to get a thin cable from eBay.
95% of the FP items on here I wonder how they even made FP. And there are several items that are great that never even make FP. It's a conspiracy!
When I have trouble falling asleep, I count ECBs instead of sheep
Wow! I got a new 20ft HDMI cable for $7 or $8 on eBay.
you should just create forum and see how many rep pts you get. Post the different auctions, preferably the ones with 5-10 available. but post a wall of link, so that when SD effect an auction, they can just move to the next. Even post a search link so that people can find longer ones, or 1.4 ones. , or in case your supply of links . Sorry I;m ending this half way, but passing out...night
If I had wanted the latter, I would have ordered the latter, not the former. Not to mention O.co is rather obnoxious with the emails, despite my preference for less frequency.
I'm sure it will work fine, and it's hard to complain about a cable for $2.50 shipped, but it's more the principle of the matter. I expect a certain laxity from eBay sellers, places like Meritline, and others that sling cheap, fungible goods, but I guess O.co fits into the category as well.
