The same thing happened to me as well. In fact, I was just looking around the web now to see where I might be able to find an Artisan in liquid graphite (since I no longer see that color listed on the Kohl's site), and wasn't having any luck -- even on the Kitchenaid site. It hadn't occurred to me that the color listing was actually an error and there are no liquid graphite Artisans!
I did call Kitchenaid about the rebate the other day (i.e., once I opened the box and realized that the mixer was not the Artisan model -- you really can't tell from the outside), and they indicated that the rebate probably will not go through with the mismatched UPC code and receipt. The CSA actually suggested seeing if Kohl's would generate a new receipt for the correct item, but I can't imagine they would do that. I suppose there is nothing to lose, though, in trying to submit the rebate (you would have to file for the $50 rebate, however, since the UPC code is for the Pro machine). I haven't attempted to deal with Kohl's yet about being shipped the "wrong" item, but have intended to call (or visit) them. One of my concerns about "exchanging" it for the Artisan in the store is that they would likely count this as a return rather than an even exchange, which would then cause problems for the Kohl's cash from the original purchase that I've already spent. Plus, there is no way to replicate all of the various discounts and cashbacks from the original purchase to re-purchase the Artisan at the same low price. So, it's not such a simple return... Anyway, I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in this problem, and that others who have already contacted Kohl's were given the option of simply keeping the mixer. (I'm still not certain what I'll do since this is a law school graduation gift for my niece; if she would prefer the smaller mixer, then this one may still go back to Kohl's...or, maybe it will find it's way into my kitchen and replace my over-30-year-old Kitchenaid! ).ETA: Finally called Khol's today, and the CSR confirmed that there is no problem with my keeping the mixer ("Merry Christmas!," he said).
