For those of you who ordered y500 with 1080P and 1TB HDD .
Did you guys get the shipment? What is your shipment origin scan?? My UPS : Greensboro, NC, United States Origin Scan It's weird since my last laptop ordered from lenovo which the origin scan was "SHANGHAI, China" Last edited by kyfelix; 12-09-2012 at 01:39 AM.. |

The arrival of the package is horrible.
Come with the lenovo box without extra brown box for protection. The lenovo box is full of scratch and dent. Laptop is scratched and looked like USED!! Ordered this y500 laptop from regular lenovo website as NEW! very disappointed with lenovo now and asking for replacement or refund from LENOVO post-sale service. Does any1 experience the same situation? Last edited by kyfelix; 12-10-2012 at 10:43 PM.. |

I've had over two dozen pcs and laptops from them that shipped from there. but since 99% chance you won't be buying the 1tb anytime soon ($2000+/-), let's just say 512gb. if you used hard drive caddy in lieu of the dvd drive, you can put in another ssd/hdd Last edited by Akarin; 12-10-2012 at 10:51 PM.. |

Ours arrived with the optic drive not working. Trying to get customer support has been horrendous. First you have to call technical support, then you have to call post-sales, then you have to wait for them to call you back. We just wanted to pop out the optic drive and replace it with a new one. Apparently this voids the warranty. So we are being forced to either send it in for repair, or request a new one. My son has already spent hours trying to download new content online. Is there no quality check before these things are shipped out? (Oh and because it was a Christmas gift and wasn't opened until 20 days after the ship date, I have a feeling we're going to be S.O.L. as far as their 21 day return policy.)

It's been 2.5 weeks since I initiated a replacement due to scratches all over the bottom and hinges of the laptop and I have yet to hear anything back. Each time I call or e-mail I get "we will update you tomorrow" and an update never comes. I knew there were shipping issues with Lenovo but I wish I would've read more about their crappy customer service. I would've paid more for a Dell or Asus, at least their customer service is decent.

Yep. My box was dented, dented foam, scratch on lid, scratch on power brick. The bezel is messed up in the top left corner and the middle. I can pop it back into place, hear the click, but it pops back out. Who knows if this was during shipping or happened in the factory. no reason the power brick should have damage from shipping. It did not appear used though. Just poorly handled by assembly techs/UPS. Pros: The pills were there.
Cons: So was the tank. |
