Co2 Doctor sells a cabling kit to let you hook up different kinds of co2 tanks. It's really the only way to make a sodastream economical in the long run. Or just keep swapping out tiny proprietary tanks if that's your thing.

If you are purchasing this to think you're going to save money on soda then please rethink it. If you live in a city or condo and lugging 2liters or 12packs is a hassle then this is for you. The refill canisters are anywhere from $15-$35 available at Target / BB Beyond. The canisters will make about 40 LITERS of carbonated water depending on how you like it carbonated. For me I like 3 - 4 pumps. I use to drink about 6 cans of soda a day. I have switched to sparkling water. The flavored water syrups from them are about $10 for 3 flavors and make easily 20 liters per bottle. The system is a rip off if you dont modify it and use their overly priced syrups and CO2. Look on google on how to make your own syrups.
