I think if you go to Black Friday and just buy then yeah, you aren't going to get great deals. Some things are not cheap, some things are not discounted but they pretend they are. But if you are educated and you have been watching prices and been looking for something and you see it for a really low price and purchase it on Black Friday it does not make you uneducated or stupid for doing that. Many items that retailers sell on Black Friday are discounted beyond the price that the retailer paid. For example our $300 50" Panasonic cost Sears more than $400 to purchase it. They sold it at a loss to get us in the door hoping we would purchase more items then just that. I did buy two more things, a spice rack and a pair of gloves. The gloves were $2.50 and the spice rack and all the spices was $15. I know on both items I got a good deal because I frequently buy gloves and also because I have wanted one of those spice racks for a long time and have looked at them numerous times and decided to pounce because the price was unbeatable. I may have been able to find a better deal online but I also get sick of constantly scouring the internet and Slick Deals constantly for great deals. I just get really sick of the people that come to the BLACK FRIDAY forum to talk crap about it and act superior and better then everyone. Some people on here are educated and know what to pay for items. Just because you hate Black Friday doesn't mean you need to bring everyone else down and spew negativity all over the place.
But onto the original topic, I am never very impressed with Cyber Monday. Every year I think I am going to find great deals that rival Black Friday and I never do. But I did pick up a copy of Brave on Amazon for $9 since I missed the deal at Walmart. Last edited by Angela22; 11-26-2012 at 09:08 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I thought CM was for the people who were to far back in the line to get the good deals or could not be at two different stores at the same time...and could still buy something nice for X-mas on monday. What I have seen so far has been nothing but higher prices on the left over crap that did not sale on BF.

I think retailers are spreading everything out too much. Black Firday and Cyber Monday are losing their charm because, honestly, the easy deals are from Nov 1st-Thanksgiving and then there are a couple of hard to get hit and miss for Black Friday and Cyber Monday ones.

I found more deals in the week leading up to Thanksgiving than I did on BF and cyber monday combined...
One thing I found pretty shocking. I bought a bunch of Blurays at BB on the day before thanksgiving at great prices, and they had a good selection. I stopped by the same BB on Black Friday (at like 2pm...can't be bothered with crowds and lines). I noticed that they had very little stock of good items, and they had actually raised prices on a couple of items. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until I checked my receipts when I got home! |
