Virgin Mobile HTC EVO V 3D $149.99 Amazon

I just posted this in the Amazon HTC One thread - guess I should have made a new thread....

Any reason to get it from Amazon instead of directly from Virgin Mobile?

Can't believe no one else is biting on this!
I ordered a One V from VM, but I hit my limit and didn't get the Evo 4g from them.
Once I saw this, I jumped on. Amazon charges me tax now, but I have prime and the 2 day shipping! Wheeeeee

The 4G tech (WiMax) on this device will be obsolete next year when LTE rolls out

Very true and I know.
4g reception in my area is pretty much nonexistent.

But at this price point, I'll get to enjoy a new phone and resell at pretty much the same price when I do decide to sell it off. Bigger picture.

People usually get a new phone every year, why not have faster data for a year? And I doubt LTE will come to Virgin Mobile immediately after it comes to Sprint. Look how long it took VM to even get WiMax.

Orb how is this 3 times better than the HTC One V?

Wont Sprint keep WiMAX and LTE running concurrently, at least for a while? I cannot imagine that (without notice or phone purchase credit) a Sprint contract customer with a WiMAX phone will one day suddenly have no service and be required to buy a brand new LTE phone.

Depends on how much you value the differences. I ordered 2 of the One V from VM and 1 of the EVO V 3D. Was gonna use both of the One V phones for wife and I but I'll use the EVO 3D for myself and then sell/return the One V.

Clear runs on WiMax so I doubt Sprint will completely turn WiMax off in a year unless Clear is upgraded to LTE.

This is what I assume. According to the VM maps the Denver area has pretty good WiMAX coverage. If the phone lasts 2 years ($6.25/month) I'll be pretty happy. By then I expect the flying phones of the future with 16 cores to be out.

Get real, they're not going to shut 4G off, it will be around for a while. The Evo 4G is a great phone, especially now with the new update. In two years we will all be getting a Galaxy SIII or IV anyway.

I'm in Denver too. You can see the VM 4G map by going to the http://www.clear.com/coverage site. It's pretty good all over Denver except in Reunion where I'm at.

Got my phone today, but I also ordered two One V's from VM so I'll try those first since one is my wife's Xmas gift.

I Dont want to upgrade my Sprint account , because I dont want to lose my corporate discount , so will this phone work with my sprint account or do I have to flash it or something?
